So far this is how we shimmed the diff, we put a .3mm shim5x7 inside the diff on the outdrive shaft on top of the supplied shim
Before the pin install. So far no problems after half a gallon.
We also shimmed another diff diferently but won't be able to test till next weeks race in conn. We will post the results here.

Hey guys,
I also built 2 new diffs for yesterdays club race. I doubled the standard shims on each side. Rear diff felt a little tighter but they ran fine all day.
Qualified 2nd and won the 30min A final by 3 laps.
I pulled apart the diff I blew 2 weeks ago and it had snapped the main crown gear where the pin sits. I did have a big accident with my car during that meeting so I think that may have contributed.
Yesterday I had no accidents at all and diffs ran fine all day.

You can user softer front diff oil or harder rear diff or change caster settings or another body or..or...or...

What's happening with that car? I haven't see wet any good race result. Many companies have release a lot of optionals for many cars but nothing for R4 wet.
The car does not need many optional. Just an aluminium brake holder and....harder diff gears.
I read many dissapointing comments for the rear differential and i didn't see any interest fron kyosho.
A lot of racers who waited to buy a new car (like kyosho R4) now are confused.
I hope to see a solution very soon.
Also I hope to see burst of victories.....

That's why Im heading towards getting a 733 evo.
If I was to get the R4, I would scour this thread to see if there is anything else I would need to do apart from making sure the rear diff is nice and snug-fitting.

I have only had 2 issues with the car. The first was the clutch nut coming loose. Easy fixed with some loctite.
The 2nd issue was the weak diff gears. I have been told that the hardened diff gears will be released by Kyosho sometime in June.
In terms of getting a 733 I think you will have more problems than this. I had a 733 last year for about a month and the list of problems with the car were almost 2 pages long.
