Default Rear diffs

Having problems with the rear diff, the gears don't seam to completely mesh and they just strip out, with the second diff I used 60,000 and made sure it was completely full, it lasted one meeting and stripped out at the end of final
Now not sure what to do, any advice appreciated , Aldo anyone know who has diff parts in stock . Thanks

I blew a rear diff yesterday as well. This is a big worry as the diff was only 2 days old.

Does anyone know how to pass this information back to Kyosho. This issue needs to be fixed sooner rather than later.

I am also after a front locker. Does anyone make an after market for this yet? Someone mentioned using an Xray locker. Is there much modification required to do this?

Default diffs

I just got the kit in today and those gears are little, what i would do until they send out new gears, I would try to put the diff together dry with an xtra .1 mm shim behind each side of the bigger diff gears and see if it binds or still has play, an or remove shim till it is not binding and is not to loose. if it feels good put the silicone in and run it. I will be playing around with the shims tomorrow night and will post results.

Sounds like a plan Pete. I will try it out when I build a new diff.

I haven`t pulled my broken diff apart yet so not sure what happened to mine. But I did see a couple of weeks ago 2 broken main crown gears snap in half where the pin goes from another R4 driver. Im not sure if shimming would have any effect on this?

nobody will answer you rookie cause as of now the car is a piece of @%*!
Ive held 1 and have seen it on the track, it looked pretty good, but nothin to talk about, I personally think from a "bad business point of view" that all we Rseries drivers ever wanted n needed was a better clutch and smaller diffs, n a shit load of innovative mods like capricorn!! kyosho didnt need to make a new car! especially not one that looks like a Team magic car!...........sorry to bash im just disappointed to wait all that time for that, n then the sad part is that none of you who bought it will admit that the car is not better than what you had!!Rookie stick with ur shimo or better yet a Evo 2 with a Capricorn clutch and a NT1 diff mod!!

The R4 certainly is a great car. From someone who has shimos and r4's (for myself and a young son), At our home track we have both turned faster lap times and enjoying fine tuning these new models. Yes they are both experiencing rear diff issues but i wouldn't write them off. I have asked rc-champ to look out for the new upgraded planetary gears and heres hoping this will rectify the only real issue the car has. We took our shimos down to a state title event and with the same engine swapped between both chassis the R4 was consistently quicker and more drivable.

Finally the kit arrives to Greece with a good price. 520 euro

http://www.rc-world.gr/gamersclub-pa...kyosho-vone-r4

I agree that the RRR only needed to replace the clutch and diff with smallers but correct me if i am wrong but Kyosho developers know must more than you and me.

There will be an Evo version or an WC or an Evo WC hope. We just need to wait to see what the World drivers like Shimo are capable to do with this new weapon.
If something isn't good enough will be fix it.
Like serpent, shepherd, Xray all are having upgrades.

Just go in the past and find how many things they've changed.

Kyosho has a very good reputation and all hoping to have it into this car.

Time will tell if it's the reliable tank as RRR was.
