Well, I just mount it there with M3 screws. If required, put some spacers to make sure they are upright. I believe for the bottom of the shock, I just secure it. No need to screw it in properly. As long as the shock tool can measure both sides, then you should be good to go !

You could also try the RD Logics Turbo II pipe. Apprently very good too.
