for pinion removal you can use serpent 802515 and to hold the clutch bell 802514. I just got these tools and they work perfect .

I finally bought a gram scale and weighed some of the lightweight parts in case any of you are interested.

Stock flywheel 10g
The lightened flywheel is 9g ($21)

The first gear adapter, 8g stock
Lightened, 7g ($27)

The blade swaybar is 11g ($44)
vs 2.4mm sway bar at 5g plus the small aluminum pieces at the ends (2-3g)

Brake disk adapter 9g stock
Lightened 7g ($17)

Total savings, 4 grams off the drivetrain, -3 more by ditching the blade swaybar
Total cost, $109.

The next time I rebuild my car I'll also get the weights of the multidrive and one piece vs two piece engine mounts. Does anybody have the weights of a stock diff (spool and diff?) or the lightened two speed adapter?

Hey Guys,

I broke my shock body on my NT1 yesterday and would just like to ask if the shock body for the NT1 and the T2(EP Kit from Xray) are the same and can be use on the NT1?
Also, is the alum. shock body from an FK04 or is it FK05 compatible with the NT1?
Thanks in advance for the help! ;)

Yes, T2 and NT1 shock bodies are the same (part # 308330) Not sure about alu. bodies, they were discontinued...

Keep in mind that the seemingly small weight savings of the flywheel, 1st/2nd gear holders and brake disk holder are not so insignificant when it comes to rotational mass.

I changed all of these at the same time at the track a few weeks ago and I definitely noticed an increase in acceleration on the track. ;)

As far as overall static weight is concerned, the car is pretty much light out of the box, depending on electronics of course. Therefore, the most important weight savings still points to rotational mass.

Is that the aluminum shock body you're saying?

Also, are the springs for T2 also same as the springs for NT1? I'm guessing its a "Yes" as they both have same shock body, want to be sure though.

Thanks in advance! ;)

The front springs are shorter. The back springs are the same as the T2.

I think I'm ready to race on 4th and 5th of August 2007. It's a DTM race..... Serpent ( the host ) is kindly let other car makers to compete.

( pardon the tamiya stickers..... I'm eccentric  )

yes they are the aluminium shock bodies. i ended up going with the stock plastic shock bodies so i can work closer to the factory guys like, paul lemieux, chris doesek, tom esposito, i felt that if i was running different stuff than they were that the setups might not work the same.
