But madweazl, the original setup screws to the center diff cover not the splash guard but knowing your attention to detail I am sure you know that. |
Just received my Bittydesign body for the JQ, and comparing it to the stock body, we may be in luck. I have yet to trim it out and see. This is the one im working with. http://www.amain.com/Bittydesign-For...e-Pink/p265637

Yea edwin unfortunately the stock filter setup doesnt work when running the FTW nightfox body for the xray. I run the losi filter as well but havent seen a need for a hanger because its pretty squished in there as it is.

And a little more comparison between the Mugen and Tekno if anyone was interested. I raced the Mugen down at Revelation last night qualifying 2nd and taking the win in the main but the race was a bit screwy last night. Typically there are 2 heats for buggy and they normally end up being a novice/amateur and expert (Drake and the like). Last night I signed up for novice like normal here but half the buggy field split into a novice and for the first time, an amateur class. Myself and another racer put a lap on the field in our class and were actually sitting 2 and 3 on the grid for the amateur class. I figured the race director would have re-sorted the classes (only 3 drivers from the amateur class made 12 laps like Shane and I had) but that ended up not happening. In the end, I was the only driver to make 19 laps in my class and would have finished 3rd in the amateur class so I dont really consider it a win. As for the performance of the buggies, I was 2.1 seconds off my previous fast lap with the Tekno. Looking at the field, other drivers were slower as well which I expected since the track is considerably rougher now) but Drake was only 1 second off his previous and other drivers were really close to that. So in a nutshell, I'm about 1.1 seconds slower with the Mugen right now. The steering characteristics are very similar to the Tekno (almost spot on really) and much like the Tekno, I've been fighting for more rear grip. I was able to get it considerably better last night but am running the least amount of antisquat possible to do it (something I'd like to reverse). It had a tendency to roll in the corners (regardless of speed) and was very nervous to drive but that settled last night (suspension broke in I imagine). Still lacks the raw corner speed of the Tekno right now however. Both buggies have very similar flight characteristics and are very responsive to small corrections. Overall, Mo's setup was perfect for me and I'm much more comfortable driving the Tekno right now. |
Wanted to mention one other thing; I wasnt able to run the X3 Lockdowns on the the Tekno but they performed well above expectations on the Mugen. While the Holeshots/Gridirons worked exceptionally well on the Tekno, they fell about .7 seconds short of the Lockdowns on the same track. My presumption is that they are a great alternative if you're trying to find something between the Holeshot and Blockade. They truly had grip that was better than both on the surface I ran Tuesday night.

Have you ever tried AkA Catapults? Can you compare Catapults vs Lockdowns?

I wouldn't put Lockdowns and Catapults in the same department. Lockdowns seem to work best when the center line is damp but had packed or grooved up and the outside is loamy. The lockdowns have great sidebite and even if you step out into the loam on a turn to pass you will keep the traction, the catapults in my opinion work best on drier grooved up tracks after the tire is worn a bit because you get lots of surface area on the track without the instability of a tall lug/pin tire.

Congrats Tekno on picking up Lutz.

Was so exciting to see the news this morning. I was really thinking he was going to end up over at Sworkz but this was just awesome to read. I hope this really helps to grow the brand and get the vehicles into the hands of more drivers and more importantly, into more shops around the country.
I'll be moving to Virginia in the next month and it looks like my nitro days are over for about 6 months. I'm hoping to find some indoor 1/8 buggy in the northern Virginia area to hold me over. Big congratulations to Tekno and Mr. Lutz! |

New parts now available:
TKR5215B – Brake Cams (10° offset, steel, 2pcs) These brake cams will improve the braking response and feel on the NB and NT48 vehicles. They are also compatible with our EB/ET48 brake kits. The new cams feature a 10 degree offset that provides quicker engagement of the brakes. The offset ensures the linkage does not bind before reaching full brake and also allows better use of fiberglass brake discs (TKR5206) with steel pads (TKR5214). The shape of the cam itself has been rounded to enhance brake feel, making the brake curve more linear. The cams are CNC machined from quality steel, then hardened and black oxidized for durability. Features: •Stronger braking power. •Quicker braking response. •Enhanced brake feel (more linear). •CNC machined and hardened for durability. •Compatible with NB/NT48 as well as EB/ET48 (optional brake kit required for electrics). http://www.teknorc.com/tekno5/wp-con.../TKR5215Bs.jpg TKR1238 – Droop Adjustment Screws (M4x10mm, 8pcs) Our new droop screws makes it a breeze to set droop on your vehicle. A 2.0 hex is machined on the shank end for easy adjustment and a normal 2.5mm hex is on the button head. They are compatible with virtually all 1/8th scale vehicles including the Tekno RC EB/NB/ET/NT48 and also our SCT410. Manufactured from high quality steel. One package will outfit 2 vehicles. Features: •Easily and simply adjust your droop. •Compatible with Tekno RC EB/NB/ET/NT/SCT and most other 1/8th scale vehicles. •Hardened steel construction. http://www.teknorc.com/tekno5/wp-con...1/TKR1238s.jpg TKR6065 – Shock Piston Blanks (CNC, conical, 16 dimples, 16mm) Made from self lubricating Delrin material with our exclusive conical design, these CNC pistons have 16 dimples to help you create custom pistons easily and are machined to perfection. Any hole size and configuration you’ve ever needed is now possible. Features: •CNC machined for precise fit. •Fully customizable piston configuration for your unique track conditions. •Unique conical design allows for different compression and rebound characteristics. •Smoothest suspension action. •Compatible with most 16mm shock systems including Tekno RC EB/NB/ET/NT/SCT. http://www.teknorc.com/tekno5/wp-con.../0_hole_s1.jpg TKR1240 – Lower Shock Mount Screws (2 clockwise threads, 2 counter clockwise threads, EB/NB/SCT) Ensure that your shock screws never come loose with these CW and CCW shock mount screws. These screws also feature a dimple for easy droop/shock length measurements. Rather than threading the screws all the way, each screw features a shoulder that fits more precisely into the pivot ball on the shock rod end. This reduces slop and reduces wear on the pivot ball compared to a fully threaded screw. They are CNC machined from high quality steel then hardened for durability. The black screws have CW threads and install on the front left and rear right shocks. The silver screws have CCW threads and install on the front right and rear left shocks. A perfect upgrade for your EB/NB48 and SCT410/EB48SL. NOTE: These are not compatible with the ET or NT48, however they are compatible with many other vehicles on the market. Features: •CW and CCW threads will not loosen during a race. •Machined dimple for easier droop measurements. •Partially threaded to reduce slop and reduce wear on pivot balls. •CNC machined steel construction, hardened for durability •Easily identifiable CW/CCW (black/silver) •Uses a 5.5mm nut driver to install http://www.teknorc.com/tekno5/wp-con...1/TKR1240s.jpg |
