Stock or Losi type clutch bells will not work. Also you will need to put about 2mm of shims between the front bearing and collet to move the clutch bell forward.

This isn't remotely true, I have no shims between the block and collet and run less than 1 mm between the bell and end screw.

True. Guess it all depends all on the engine.

The Werks clutch fits perfect with the Picco using the Serpent clutch bell. The Losi also works fine but it rides on the inside of the bell (still had full contact). I run the medium and really like the feel.

Thanks. Does Serpent bell have 5x10 bearings? Can't find that info on Amain. Do you use vented bell or not?

The Serpent bell uses 5x10x4 bearings and I highly recommend TKO as they have been very durable for me. I use the vented bell on my NB48 and I believe Madweazel does as well.

Yep, 5x10x4 front and rear. I've just been using the Protek bearings in it the last 2 months and they've actually been lasting really well. You'll be fine with the Losi bell though. The Serpent covers the shoes quite a bit more which is nice but certainly not necessary. I've been using this one.

My bad, I thought you used the vented bell! Anyway, both work well.

How's the Picco working out for you? I just switched from my Werks to the Picco as well and man is the Picco on point! Not to say the Werks is bad by any means, but so far I'm liking the 5TR better all around.

Hell froze over and it rained out here so I havent had a chance to put a final tune on it but it's stronger than the B6 Pro already. Tune is close to optimal on the top end but I havent finalized the low end yet. If the track is good today, I'll be heading out to get it dialed in.

Got down to the track today and put some laps on the Mugen. Right now I'm a lot more comfortable driving the Tekno (guy at the track came up to me and told me I drive better with the Tekno  ). I'll be racing the Mugen on Tuesday so I'll get an idea of how the lap times compare.

Anyone else hoping Lutz ends up with Tekno:nod:

Sure would be nice to have a top caliber driver!

Picked up some piano wire and made a new mount for the Losi filter.

Cool but why?

madweazl 11-03-2014 07:28 PM

I like having them solidly mounted.

But why not use the stock Tekno filter?
