Setup
The more I drive this car the more I love it. Mo was right. His setup allows you to push the the car if you want or relax and drive smooth. I have never been this fast or this consistant. I will be selling my MP9's and my D812. Theres is no need for them.
My question on setup is what can I expect if I change the rear diff oil from 4k to 3k and or 5k? My current oils or 554. I run on a med to loose track. Also on anti squat Im running two dots down in the F/r block. I do have the the LRC block installed. What is my total anti squat? My guess is 2 degrees can someone confirm this? What would be a recommendation for a med to loose track? |
The 3k may help you on a looser track. I was running on a higher bite track and was diffing out with the 4k on some of the higher speed tighter turns, the 5k let me carry a little more speed through the corner without sacrificing steering.

Was down at the track breaking in the engine on Wednesday and started tear down and prep for the last round of JBRL yesterday and found this. Didnt have any big tumbles since I was running really rich and slow so I suspect it had actually cracked the last time I was out and came apart at the end of the day, Wednesday. Could see that I had a lot of extra camber when I came off the track from the last tank but figured I had bent a turnbuckle when I clipped a pipe. Hingepins and turnbuckles were in perfect shape, not a mark on them somehow. Need new diff case and the new pivot block and of course, no shops had one in the area (a few shops stock the SC parts but nothing for buggy).
The Tekno will sit on the shelf this weekend (and maybe far longer) while I finish up the build on an MBX7R I started yesterday. Always sucks going into a race with a brand new car but I wanted to find something with better parts support for the time being and there are tons of Mugens out here. I had just sprayed down the front bulkhead with Trackpower, it isnt bleeding (on the outside anyways  ). http://i779.photobucket.com/albums/y...psda0907e0.jpg On a positive note, I ran into a younger driver by the name of Rudy (team driver) and his father, John last night. They had a used pivot block they were willing to give me but no diff cases unfortunately. They were happy to help out and man, that kid is fast (15 I believe)! I helped them out with the tuning of their engine as it was super lean and we talked for much of the evening (I was building the new buggy at the track). By the way, if you are around JBRL then there should be tons of parts support? |
I like the buggy a lot, just tough when you break something shortly before a race and cant get the parts. There are a lot more Mugens out here than Teknos so it's easier to find parts locally. That being said, it's a 7r and I'm sure parts wont be that easy to find right now either.

Hey guys I need to ask you for help. I have a NB48 coming for myself. I don't see any reason why I cant use my Nova .21 ISON GT motor at least for now? Has tons on power everywhere in the Tekno GT I built. It weighed 3500G
Thanks |
No reason it wouldnt work.

Only thing I can think of is the metal shield front bearing. Metal shields in off road usually doesn't end well.

Good point. Will just be indoor clay so I would think that should help.

Still very surprised by that break, and you didn't hit anything or a Mack truck didn't hit you? Haha those hinges are pretty darn sturdy, the just doesn't happen from wear. Could it have broke a while ago in a big crash but the front bumper was holding it together so you didn't notice?

I remember you're running Werks clutch inside your NB48. Could you bring some more details? Do you run it with stock clutchbell? Do you think 'medium' gonna be good choise for stock Picco 5TR team (i know you have clocked with different pipe, but maybe there is one common rule)?
