Any of the 4 shoe clutch shoes should work, but you may need to clearance the shoes a little for the pin. The New Tekno shoes that came with the 2.1 have the clearancing done.

I got a hand-me-down 2.0's buggies, would like to know if it is normal for these buggies to have a lot of slop? it does not look and feel right, maybe just used and abused and does 2.1's the same. I would like to switch to Tekno but if it has these issues(if it is issues) i might have to think a little more about this.

You need to dive into them abit to figure out where the slop is coming from.

I recently bought a used NB48 2.0 and the front arms were all worn out where the hinge pin bushings go in, and the A block piils were worn out too, causing a huge amount of slop.

too much shimming and parts to be replaced. does a brand new kit 2.1 will not have slop?

2.1 kit is as loose new also

bummer. is this always an issue for the brand? peeps ok with it? off road not that precise so you can get away with it? is that the case? too many questions lol...

I run their electric cars but my experience should still apply. The suspension components all come pretty loose. I’ve read here somewhere that they (Tekno) left the car loose as most cars get faster as they break-in and the tolerance provided gets you up to speed faster. My grievance is the outdrive break in takes so long that other parts are beyond their practical loose-is-fast limit by the time the drivetrain breaks in and provides the desired grip. With that said… I continue to run Tekno because I’m not convinced that any other brand can provide the low operating cost that Tekno has found. On my EB 2.0, the plastic spur gear out lasted the chassis.

I agree, I will continue to run these 2.0's and see what happens. durability and customer service is top notch. its's just disappointing,

I received a new to be nb48 2.0 with a flashpoint FP02 engine. This is my first nitro. What all bits for engine and chassis do I need to make sure I have plenty of extras for? I already have arms and pins (have a EB48 2.0 also).

TIA!

Here is what I'd advise for spares:
- TKR9020 Hinge Pins
- TKR9286 Front Suspension Arms

As far as normal nitro maintenance items:
- TKR4213 Clutch Bell
- 5x10x4mm and 5x13x4mm bearings for clutch

The slop is by design. The going theory is that if a car is setup too tight, any dirt that works its way in can cause things to bind up. The built in slop gets around that being an issue. However, if you don't want it that loose because your conditions don't lead to a lot of dirt working its way in, you can shim the car up to be as tight as you desire. That said, I've run all but the ET 2.0 and I have never felt that the car being somewhat loose has held me back. Often times with our track the cars will come off the track looking like they have been through hell and back but my Tekno's always feel smooth and ready to keep going. Unless you are a driver on say Ryan Maifield's level, it probably won't hold you back either.

I would like to add from my experience to make sure you have extra glow plugs, extra air filters, and an extra starter box wheel.
