This car is tough. I ran it all summer and for the finals this past weekend,it got double teamed. Myself and a friend ran the car all day. I was in Intermediate and he ran Pro. 2 hours of practice,6 quals total and 2 mains totaling over 40 mins of run time. Finally brake fade and a flameout in the pit killed my A main where I was running in the top 3.
I can't say my future is in cement with Tekno because there is a huge pull for me to run Losi but I'm not sure if very man cars would of put up with the pounding this car got all year and still put up with double shifting in the main. I really do like this car! I dont think you can go wrong with TLR, Kyosho, or Tekno and Mugens up there too, all preference. |

I think you mean BumbleBee, the SuperBee is for gas engines, and interrupts the ignition coil. The BumbleBee (for nitro cars) stops the fuel flow, since there is no ignition coil in nitro cars. :)

I'll stick w my radio fail safe, it's cool but not worth $60 to me personally, plus just another thing that could fail. My savox servos seem to last great if maintained, outside of that, the futaba setting takes care of the rest.
Small price to pay for what could have happened to my car. All the maintenance in the world on servos does not guaranty it wont fail. Its not even the failing part that I worry about because like you said the fail safe, and return spring will help, but if you have something jam up in the servo its all over. Killer RC has been around for a long time. Been running there kill switches for years. My bumble bee switch is pretty old now and still works great. |

Yea like I said you are right, its definitely a cool little feature but just personally not something I would purchase right now but I love cool add ons so something to think about haha, but from the pic it looks like something could go wrong with it just as easily as a servo but its hard to tell without actually having one in my hand to see, granted if it failed it would only cut off fuel to the engine i guess but still, everything has its pros and cons I guess.
That said, I am sure this weekend i will have a servo failure and my buggy will go flying into the pond. Not much can happen if it did fail really. It will ether kill the motor, or it wont. I personally like the idea of having Auto glitch kill, Adjustable low voltage kill, Adjustable Power loss kill, Adjustable engine temp kill. Little thing does a lot, but if it did fail it would only shut off, or not do anything at all worst case scenario. |
Where did you install it, seems fairly large.

I inspected the tank yesterday, tried a pressure test, checked the clunk, looked at the lid, and just cant find anything wrong with the tank. No idea what the heck was going on but it appears to be "fine" other than the really odd change in idle.

wow thats cool, didnt know it had all those features but just looked it up, looks like it comes with a big clear plastic case to put it in when mounted but you opted not to use that?

Cleaned everything and rebuilt all 3 diffs and the shocks today. Next up is the new radio tray. Sure hope the damn chassis gets here tomorrow! Somehow ended up with 2 new sets of front arms instead of 1 each. Can probably find a set of those at IERC tomorrow so it looks new front to back

Chassis arrived today and the buggy is all back together for JBRL tomorrow. Installed new arms, mud guards, clutch bell, spur, and a few other goodies. Looks like a brand new buggy again

Always have a blast, even on chaotic days when it seems like nothing can go right (this not being one of them). Gotta charge up a couple more radio batteries and then I'm all set for a 4:30am wake up.

Boohoo, Upgrade RC name decals didnt make it in time. I'll just be "the nameless" tomorrow

Well, not the day I was hoping for but still a great time and I met some good people too (Eric McNiel and Jerry Gerue of Tekno and a number of other fantastic racers as well). Stirex, sorry about the poor pit service in the 2nd round bud but thanks for helping out for my main.
1st qualifier was like driving on ice; soft Catapults just werent working so I switched to soft Gridirons for the 2nd qualifier and they were much better (worth .6s/lap from the 1st qualifier) getting my lap times where they needed to be (though still about .5s off my fast laps for this track when it's dry). I was working on an easy run to get into the A but had 1 terrible lap (10s off my avg) and ended up qualing 2nd for the B. The buggy was working well and I was pretty confident that I'd end up with the bump. Got off to a good start in the main with the leader and I pulling away from the pack. Moved up to 1st for a while and had the bump in the bag when I put together 4 or 5 very poor laps costing 20+ seconds and ended up finishing 4th :( It was a disappointing finish (pure driver error), I was really hoping there would be a pair of Teknos in the A but Stirex would have to represent, solo. Sucks seeing your fast lap, top 5, top 10, and top 15 better than the leader and still screwing it up. Consoling myself with a white Russian, things should be looking up in no time  On another note, my rash of broken clutch bells continued today as I broke a brand new one in practice (lost a single tooth). Got it replaced and the new one was perfect the rest of the day but that was 2 this week (1 Serpent and 1 Losi). Somehow managed to break a rear body mount in the main without a single blemish on the body, not sure how the heck I pulled that off (screw snapped too!). The only other notable was I ended up running lean on the bottom, not sure how I missed the tune that bad as it was perfect during warm up on the bench and initial laps but I guess it was better than a flame out. |
Ordered my nb48 today.... very excited.
