Default Protek Servo

Anyone had issues with the Protek Servo's? My 150T died this weekend with 3 race days on it.

I fixed that this weekend with these pistons and the new black springs. Very happy. I ran the 1.2x8 with ae 45/40 oils f/r. 9.25 front spring, 10.75 rear. Loads of front grip now. To me the car always felt like it had too much rear grip..the trick was to get more front grip with all the rear grip still there..more grip everywhere lol. Car insane now.
Where did you get the 8 hole pistons? thanks

Hideeho
We have had 3 proteks at my track. They have been in a 4wd sc, ebug & an etrug. The sc died in 2 days & was replaced quickly under warranty, the ebug cant find center & vibrates any time its at center (picture parkinson's disease, & hasn't been sent back in yet), & the truggy died in a few weeks (not sure if it was replaced or not). I doubt anyone at my track will order one again. Amain has given great customer service, but everyone here has required it.

The mugen ones are the ones i use. They are flat..like the stock 1.3x5. Dont confuse conical with tapered. Lee martin is refering to the tapered hole orientation. But whatever. They are awesome.

Mugen ones
Taper up = taper hole facing up = V V V V = smooth/low traction = fast compress/slow rebound= generates more traction in this orientation and might become edgy or traction roll if track has too much grip.

Taper down= taper hole facing down = ^ ^ ^ ^ = bumpy/ high traction= slow compress/ fast rebound = packs more on compression and faster rebound better in bumps

I'm thinking straight hole, no taper. 1.2 x 8 Anybody else agree?

Over all great build only gripe if any, would be the shocks. I just couldn't get them to feel as nice as I would like. I tried every possible combination using the Losi 22 orings and JQ bushings, either the shocks leaked or filled with air. Ended up using all Mugen parts, shocks feel stiff, but hopefully they will loosen up.

If you arent governed by efra...get the 9886 pipe. I have the 9901,2096 and 9986 for my 4btts' the 9886 turned it into a monster. Im 100% sure if it werent illigal to run it in europe at large races, all the nova guys would have run it lol. The 2096 also nice
