Hell yeah! Unfortunately, I won't be able to make very many races until late may-early june. But I plan on making all of the races from then on until the end of the season. I may be able to make a sunday race at longmont in the next few weeks. By the way, what tires do you think will be good to run at
Burlington, Longmont, and CFT? Right now I have a almost new set of medium cityblocks and a 50% set of soft cityblocks. |

I raced on road a long time ago and did the same thing. Bought the 8T RTR and went racing. All I did to start was change the tires to what the track guys run. The fastest Expert runs in the 25-26 second range and I was running 28-29 seconds my first time out just after motor break in. So the car is fast and handles pretty well out of the box.
I have less than 2 gallons on mine now and went through the hole car this week. I have changed the following parts to date. 1 front A arm. I hit a fence on my first time out. :) Replaced the steering servo to a 7955tg this week. I think the stock servo was getting too weak to turn it anymore. Aluminum steering arm. V2 rear shock tower. I wanted the extra shock location. Aluminum shock caps. Just because I was doing a fluid change. None of the stock ones broke. Replaced diff oils. Stock setup is Drakes setup. So no change in performance. Installed new clutch shoes this week. Car has about 2 gallons on it now and the shoes looked pretty good. Could go another gallon or more. Big item. The stock carb started sticking really bad. After about 15 tanks or so. Local shop couldn't get it to work right so Horizon sent me a new carb last week. But I did install a new OS .21XZ-B motor and I like it a lot better than the 454. Easier to tune, stays tuned, less punchy so less wheel spin and more controllable. Just as fast, maybe a bit faster for me personally. Turn 27-28 lap times now. Starter box kinda sucks. Make sure the wheel is perfectly lined up with the flywheel. Keep tabs on it after you get it set. The screws work a little loose on the box and they can move. If misaligned it can make it hard to start the motor and can break belt. I have broke one. I think that's about it. I hit tons of stuff with the stock parts and they held up fine. So you should be good for a while and then start hopping it up as you like. That's what I have been doing. |

Hey, quick question about the 8T RTR... I have one and was wondering if you can purchase different rear hinge pins that have different toe and squat settings? I know there is the set that I believe comes with the race roller that you can get for $30.00 - but was wondering if there are just different aluminium plates that have more/less toe and diff degrees squat.
