That doesn't make any sense. They are redesigning the tray, and the throttle servo is now not by the carb. All they have to do to get a straight pull is put the pivot mount for the throttle linkage more towards the rear of the car, and you get a straighter pull. There won't be the limitation of the throttle servo position anymore.

It's well known that the throttle servos fail more often even if they are set up properly. Say what you will, but the heat doesn't make it last longer IMO.
I do understand what you are saying now about the carb though, my bad. I'm sticking with my split diff mounts ;) |

The aluminum center diff mount isn't very user friendly but I do believe it makes the center of the truck a little more solid. I don't feel that it's needed on the buggy though.
With the stock truck, I would burn through servos. Installed the King Headz extended engine mount, aluminum center diff and aluminum front chassis brace. Almost a year with no servo failure. So, I have to believe that one of the 3 items corrected the issue. |
LOSA4412 screws
hey guys these steering rack screws, A4412, keep backing out on me. sucks as they aren't in the screw kits, you have to order them with the ackerman plates which sucks and makes them expensive. :cry:
a guy here at the track uses black threadlock to keep them in (crazy never seen that stuff before the other day) but i heard threadlock is bad for plastic. what does everyone else do? :confused: |

Use a little CA or super glue. Just place some on the threads and srew it in. If the plastic is worn out, why would you care if Loctite is hard on plastic.
Don't worry about it. Just get them in there good and let'er rip. |
SAVOX=BULLSHIT
back to the topic of savox servo's, just got a brand spankin 1258TG, put it in my truck gave it a bit of a test, after not even 2 laps my truck wouldnt steer!! pulled it in, tested the servo, and whats this? the servo would seem to work fine, but i put a bit of weight on the front wheels and went to steer and it sounds like the motor shaft is spinning inside the drive gear, what a load of shit... does ANYONE know what warranty is like with savox...

Where did you buy it? They should take it back with no questions ask.
The 1258 isn't exactly the right servo for the job. I wouldn't run it on a buggy, much less a truck. This servo is rated for 10th scale with a torque rating of 166oz. |
i bought it from an ebay online store... i email'd them but no reply.. i thought i'd give it a go because a few other guys run them both steering and throttle. learning things the hard way, my life story. hahaha

Savox is very good about customer service, I have 2 that I have been using in my Truggy, 1268 High Volt servo, bought directly from Savox threw there exchange program they had last year, the one I use for throttle started glitching, email them with the problem, they quickly responded, said to return it, and with in a week after I sent it back, they send me a brand new replacement servo.

Do as others have mentioned and contact savox directly and organise to send it directly to them. they have great customer service and will replace it no problems and Im sure you just got a dud (wich happens) once you have the replaced one in I a sure you'll love it. Ive been with savox for a while now with no servo issues at all.. |
i got a message back from the shop i brought it from, they said to contact savox and if they dont do anything about it they'll offer me a full refund! i sent savox an email but yet to hear back... not a great first impression to savox, i might just stick with the trusty futaba bls 351's!!!!!
