WHAT A BASH Sesion..

So I put some Old wheels/tyres on the Tuggy today Hard compound that I would never race with and went to a Deserted quarry to do some bashing as my track is closed for a re'vamp for the femca truggy titles.(finally..It has been the same set up for 6months atleast).
MAN what fun Even though my Losi.8T.2 is Dialed for my home track I had a Freakin ball.
Ive never bashed my race truck before and it was soooooo fun
I took one of my mugen trucks with me fired it up and drove it for one tank then promtly changed back to my truggy.
Guys If you have a spare day and want to go for a FUN bash instead of some practice laps @ the track I highly reccomend it...
I was Jumping things I would not even attempt in a MT & was Hitting hard burms flat knacker MAN IT WAS FUN..
GET out and do it its a F'n BALL...:nod::sneaky::D:lol::nod:..
have been renewed and keen for some serious racin.:spidey::p:nod::sneaky:

motor ideas?

Hi All

New to nitros, what reasonable price motor can you guys recommend I want to update the stock 454 motor to something that has better run times to keep me on the track longer?

Any good high end .21 would be fine.
Im currently running a NR.21/P5xlt (its a 2009 spec engine that you can still find new in thebox for a verry reasonable pice).
I got two of them for $210 each and Love them the run times compaired to a .28 is amazing.
Before I got the Novas I was running an LRP.z28 spec3 even though the power was ok the run times were just not long enough I'd find myself losing races because of the amount of fule stops I had to do But Now im runing the
.21 P5xlt it has awsome power all up and downthe scale with fatastic fule economy (especially with the 6.5 carb insert/veturi).
do your home work and find an engine that suits your budget and you wont be disapointed..

have to go with Trugsta,

been at this awhile myself, the P5 "Series" of motors are pretty good...
P5-XL-XLT-etc. all really good...strong motors.....
as you found out .28 dont really get the good Mileage..but allot of "Power"
can get them close....but the .21 series motors will edge them out by at least a minute easily....some .21's can with Tunning and track sizes can get around 10 minutes...

i use Nova's as well myself and Axial motors....
but in one of my Club trucks i have a "Novarossi P5 XLT" and it Scoots pretty good ...!!!
and can still find them if you shop around for about 200.00
good news is can find parts for them all over the place...
:)

motors

any thoughts on the Alpha S 852.21 or OS 21XZ-B

Sein 07-28-2011 12:52 AM

If your going to get an alpha engine get the .23

http://www.buggy-sport.info/index.ph...gy-engine.html

I hear that engine is great.

sbv20j 07-28-2011 02:37 AM

to many to choose from

some one pointed me to the Werx B5 Pro .21 this sounds like an awsum motor as well

Trugsta 07-28-2011 02:50 AM

What ever .21 Decent engine you decide on you will be happy with just dont go any cheaper than the Alphas they are really nice engines for probaby the best price.
for me the verry bottom of the decent scale is the alpha and the top would be somthing like the bonito or toro nero.....
the best way is to just get one break it in properly (heat cycle) and go from there.
just remember to use the losi collett that comes with the losi engine or you'll have all kinds of dramas...

Greg B 07-28-2011 04:25 AM

You could probably pick up a good OS .21 for a decent price. I think we have been selling them for around $249.
They tune good and they like to sit and idle.
Other engines to consider would be the Losi Nitrotec and the Ofna JL.21.
