Thought as much. Nothing I tried worked on teh standard mount, so swapped in the King Headz mount, no issues there, perfect mesh now.

Bit odd with the standard mount. Even with the screws right out, it only had maybe a a few mm of side travel for setting mesh..

Did you have the mount plates in the correct locations? The plates have to be in the correct location in order to set the mesh tight enough. Try swapping plate locations.

With proper work on the buggy, how long do you think these buggies are good for? I would hate to hear a season. I want to keep this car forever. It does not get any smoother.

I saw this last Saturday, a guy just switched from serpent and had the same prob, he had the 46/13 combo just like mine and couldn't figure out y mine was tighter than his. I looked his buggy over and found that he was running the center diff spacers to lift the center diff up. Took those out and no problems with mesh again

That was my initial thought as well, so removed those, but still no luck with the standard mount. I actually am wondering if its my engine cranckcase, as it seems as though that was quite tight fitting in the chassis engine recess and not allowing the correct amount of movement.

On another note, anyone running nimh batts on WC forward mount? Any suggestions, not quite ready to make the switch to HV servos, so not keen on running lipo+ regulator, and have never had much luck with Life packs.

We run OS and they hit the bottom engine mount plate so it was out with the dremmel and put a 45 deg chamfer on the edge of the inside plate. All fixed now.

Will look into that for future if I switch back from the King Headz mount.

which OS are you running,

Ive ran all the XB series and the old version 2 speeds and have never had the case hit the chassis.
if its still a problem, try running the truggy top mounts, they are about 1-2mm taller and would tighten the mesh up, but i think something is on wrong or backwards.

Either flip your lower engine mounting plates or grind down shoulder on bottom 4mm bolt

The engines don't hit the chassis but they do hit against the lower engine mount plate when trying to adjust the spur/bell mesh. Just take a chamfer off the inside of the plate and all good with full adjustment available.

Flipping the plate wont help with OS as it is not the problem. The bolt holes on OS are very close to the block so I have found there is a need to take a small chamfer off the top of the engine mount block so it sits properly without putting undue stress on the engine mounting tabs. Elongating the holes on the engine mounting tabs sorts this out too.
