You are going to love it bro. I love mine and never look back. People tell me they are expensive, that it's the driver and not the car that win a race but you just have to own it to understand it!

Question for the Kyosho guys. Is there a 6 hole 1.3 shock piston that not only the piston tapered but the holes are tapered or conical? Thanks.

Naw man, still troubleshooting - haha. Being an engineer, I have these elaborate troubleshooting diagrams and it's looking like it may be the battery.
Thanks for asking brother.

As an engineer myself, I had to laugh at picturing your elaborate troubleshooting diagrams! Hope you get it sorted. What switch are you using?

The only thing that I would purchase right away that doesn't come in the kit, is the 1.3x8 straight hole pistons. Otherwise, buy the usual spares - arms, hinge pins, shock shafts, and maybe some other plastics. You don't really need the pistons right away, but that's what everyone runs. Everything you need comes in that beautiful black box.

Short answer, no.

Long answer, the only 1.3x6 hole pistons are straight holes. The SP pistons also have straight holes, but they're drilled at a 45 through the piston. The holes themselves are not conical or tapered in any piston Kyosho makes to my knowledge.

hello
I usually use "5-5-2" in differentials. I feel more comfortable with "5-5-2" than with "5-5-3"
I'm thinking of trying something harder as 7-7-3, 10-10-5 ...
What do you think? What you use in differential setup? and How does the car?
thanks

Hey Sean: Using the KO Switch 2. I am using Lipo, so adjusted the Switch appropriately - turned off Lipo cutout.

I've changed the Switch to a regular switch (JR) and I still get the issues. The "brown out" occurs about 10-12 minutes into a race (~250-300mAh out of the battery) when I TURN "and" TH/BRAKE at the same time.

My gut is telling me that it is the battery b/c that is the only component that was changed since I started having these issues. However, the issues go away when I plug the battery directly into the receiver. Very interesting.

Oh, it's a Revtech 2500mAh, Lipo.

If you want a good laugh, I'll pdf my work and send it to you.

I agree 100%. You have to own one to understand how good it really is. I have never felt a drivetrain that is so smooth. Also, nothing fancy about the Kyosho's, just the aluminum parts. Everything has an old school design to it. Clutch, knuckles, throttle assembly, etc... I came from using a Mugen MBX5r and Agama A8. Very worthy competitors for the MP9.
