LOL you guys are horrible, laughing at all these brands... but I guess it's true. When I first saw my friend XB9 I was like wow, they had the battery on the front too just like Kyosho and than I realized... oh they copy Kyosho....

Yes you are right,, all this hype about the III IMO it will not change anything in the performance part of the car. I feel the changes are good as all the changes Kyosho has made to the car in the past and im sure i will buy the new stuff as i run out of spares but nothing to get excited about.

Hey guys,
What have you found to be the best option clutch setup for the K car.
I've had a few drama's with the kyosho clutch, i.e hanging up shoes and broken springs afte an hour of running with like 6 x 10 minute qualifiers.. so it's time I looked for another option that sits well with the clutch bell. Looking forward to hearing replies, even replies with good life from kyosho ones as to see if I'm doing something wrong.

OK guys does anyone have the part number for the mp777 unis or some other cvd or drive shafts to fit the mp9. I am getting really tired of them breaking in this car. 2 weeks in a row i have broke the cvds. Out front last time and this time running second. Car is great, but if keeping breaking what good is it if i cant finsh a race.

ok...so i have found some old K swingshafts that should be pretty indestructible.
a friend at the track had a box of old kyhosho parts and these axles were the exact size needed for the mp9...but they are 4.5mm thick! quite a bit heavier too...but i have a feeling they should hold up to some abuse.
still unsure of what vehicle they came from (i had a mp777 sp2 long time ago and dont remember having such massive axles..)
pic shows these pieces compared to a normal mp9 swing shaft (top)
(still havent broken an mp9 shaft yet...but these are just in case)

Never had a single issue ever with the Kyosho clutch, I reckon it's just about indestructable. So reliable and easy to build, are you building yours exactly as per the steps in the instruction manual?

And as Mr King is always pointing out, the K clutch in stock form did win the WC without any issues and Tebo and King still run it. It might not be as easily adjustable as some other brands on the market but it is definitely reliable AFAIK.

If the shoes are hanging up and the springs breaking, perhaps you might not be shimming the clutch bell correctly. I very often run old/previously used springs for practice and never had a problem with them breaking.

The 777 SP2 definitely had very similar unis to those ones with the funny ring in the middle. And I'm pretty sure I remember from back in the day that those all silver centre unis are also from one of the 777 variations.

Kev

I have been using the ascendancy products for the past 12 months. No issues at all. awesome longevity from the shoes and easy to change springs etc..

Works on the K car no issue. I use their clutch and vented clutch bell

Well dope on the weekend, was great racing in the main with you mate

Hmm... interesting, one option that I can think off is BUKU clutch. But you need to get the 32mm one and use a vented clutch bell, the stock clutch bell won't work.
