i had a venom 1600 lipo in mine that really did fit nice. dont put a lipo in this car! switched to a reedy 1600 nimh which added 40 grams and the car was way better. need the weight on the right side with the motor/pipe on the left and the rear needed the weight for traction.

I fully agree with this. The MBX-6's weight distribution is more evenly laid-out with a conventional (Nimh) battery. A lipo is too light and ends up shifting more weight to the port side; very noticeable when the fuel tank is full.

thats what lead weights are made for. I like the lipo because the power to my servos is consistant. add a little lead weight and you have your balance back.

True, true. Admittedly, I'm of the camp that think LiPos are too much of an extra hassle, what with needing the dedicated charger, voltage cutoff whatchamajigger, etc. I'll wait until they're cheaper and more user-friendly.

lipo's now are no worse and NIMH. If you have recently purchased a charger chances is that it will charge them. They hold no memory so there is no need to cycle them. There voltave output is linear compared to nimh. weight less and in most cases has more compasity. i know on a 1000mah lipo that i have i can easily make a 45 min main and warm up. try doing that with a 1000mah nimh.

This is true, in some cases. The Lipo generally cost more than NiMh and some need to be run with a regulator, depending on your electronics. The other thing is the handling of LiPos. For someone inexperienced, it can be hazardous if they don't handle them properly. Plus, they need padding more than a NiMh pack, unless you try something like the Orion hard case, but that doens't fit in tbe MBX6. Not saying not to use LiPos, but you need to know more about them to use them correctly.

not saying the lipo is bad, i use them in my radio,t4, the big thing is the weight. the car is very light but theres only so much that can be removed from a pillowball front end. that extra weight in the rear helps with the weight transfer. you can add lead weight but you may want to bolt it down. i had the car down to 3250 changed the battery and the car felt much better. just trying to help, i dont want to start a battery war lets leave that to the electric guys. lol

Actually that could be yes and no on the MBX6 AL pivot balls. The MBX6 uses two MBX5R optional AL pivot balls in the top arms, but MBX6 specific in the lower. I would assume if you ran the optional MBX5 longer front driveshafts, they would work, but I haven't checked. I assume you can use the lower shouldered pivotballs without the washer like on the MBX6.
