An even easier way to keep stubborn e-clips in place is just to use a dab of shoe goo over them. It keeps them in place and is removed easily. I learned that back in my Kyosho days with the original 777 that had all darn e-clips on everything lol.

Actually just thought about selling my new AE Rival(4 runs old) with the new axial beadlock/trencher combo($130 wheel/tire setup) if someone would offer me a good price on it. I still have the original box and manual for the truck and would even include a NIP DSM2 Spektrum Orangerx receiver so it would be a BND setup...

I would only sell them with a truck since I need them to run on the rival because I sold the stockers.

Anyone looking for a like brand new rival send me a pm with an offer. Truck is in same condition as pics I posted above. Been driven FOUR times. Hardly a single scratch and would include a $135 set of axial beadlocks with trenchers mounted up. Or for less I can include black tremor wheels with 40 series losi spiked tires mounted.

Only selling to fund another build. Truck does not include a radio but can come with a spektrum dsm2 receiver. Can also add $200 Hyperion 2s5500mah lipos for cheap.

Truck is like new and works flawlessly.

I've had no serious offers so looks like I will keep it.

On another note anyone fitted aftermarket big bores on their rival yet?

Are these a direct bolt on?

These also look good being threaded body shocks

Anyone tried these?

None of those are really "big bores" they are all the same diameter of the stock ones. Emaxx aluminum ultra shocks bolt on, but are shorter than the MGT ones.

I forgot to mention, please stay away from the cheapie threaded shocks on eBay! The blue star or Rc damper ones aren't very good. They leak and are made with inferior aluminum. Plus getting parts to fix or rebuild them are a pita. I had a set of integy msr6 piggyback shocks I got in a lot, ran 4 of them 1 time, bent a shock shaft, pulled a e clip out of another and all of them leaked after 1 time of running after I cleaned and rebuilt them.

If your really looking for a good setup beside Ae FT shocks and want something threaded I would look into doing mbx6 shocks. A few guys have run them on the MGT and really like them.

Mbx6 front or rear shocks? I'm guessing rears for more travel? Are the stock buggy springs stiff enough to support the trucks weight?

I've had pretty good luck with these on my E Maxx. The springs suck, smaller diameter wire than the stock E Maxx spring, but haven't leaked yet (6 months). I run 80 weight in them. I'll probably be putting a set of dual rates on in the next month.
Eta and I hate Integy, but these are working for me.

MattP - The Traxxas aluminum ultra shocks work pretty well on the Rival. I've used those on my MGT .21 since I bought it when they first came out, more recently I rebuilt them and put them on my sons Rival.

I used the top and bottom spring perches from the original Rival shocks and use Associated springs though. For the top I slid the Traxxas spring perch inside the stock top spring perch for a better fit on the Traxxas ultra shocks otherwise the ID of the top Rival perch is a little to big.
