OK, peeps, here is the official thread, post away.
Mine is in the shop all ready, a wire pulled off from the
ESC fan, I hope the hobby shop guy can solder it.
If not, a new fan will have to be ordered.


Is any one going to buy lipos for theirs?

The Rival Monster Truck features a super long travel independent suspension that is managed by eight fluid-filled, adjustable coil-over shocks, giving the Rival the ability to roll over just about anything in its path. Giant aggressive monster truck tires provide maximum traction, letting the Rival claw through the toughest terrain with ease. The 4WD drivetrain includes three sealed gear differentials that transfer the power with tough steel CVA drive shafts to both ends of the truck.

The red wire was off when I did the once over inspection.
I guess some 8 year old sweat shop worker messed upLOLOL
I am going to hold off on new lipo batteries.
I will probably get them in the future, I just want to see
what others are getting.

Lipos are Lipos my friend, you don't choose a specific battery for a specific truck. Id rock some 4 cells and call it a day..

What kind of battery leads are on the ESC?

What about MaH=3000-3500-4000-4500-5000-5500-6000-6500 and so on.
What about 25C-30C-40C-45C-50C and so on and so on.
I got the Deans connectors.

Looks like most 5000 to 7000mAh would fit in the trays , I would go with at least 40-50c packs . Which ones depends on your budget ....

Please explain what determines run times using a 4000 verses a 6000?
I used them two numbers as just an example.
And, what about that "C" letter LOL

4000 is the milli amp hours. So the higher the mah, the longer the run time will be.

Example. In the rival with two 2s packs at 2000mah each you will most likely get 15 to 20 minutes of runtime. If you use two 2s packs at 5000mah each you will most likely get 30 to 40 minutes of runtime.

The C rating is the discharge amount on the battery. The higher the c rating the better the performance will be. On this truck I wouldn't run anything less than 30c period.

Cool, I will go with the higher mAh I can afford.
I could even go 6000, 7000, I think I saw a 8000 on a website, but it
was costly.
Electric is a whole new animal for me
I swore I would not go electric, but, I might have bought my last nitro=XXL

Make sure you measure the height of the battery compartment , an 8000mah battery will be pretty thick compared to a 5000mah battery.

With the two batteries that came with the truck, they are snug when in place.

Then I probably wouldnt go over 6000mAh unless TT made the height of the tray adjustable . Measure the NiMh batteries that came with it and then your battery choice will be much easier . But I bet the Turnigy Nano Tech 6600mAh packs would fit , but you may want to find some hard wired packs so you wont need to worry about polarity when plugging in the bullet plugs ......

Just get some 5000's to 6500's and go on.. I run Maxamps, Venom, Thunder Powers, Dynamites and Onyx, all are good batteries, if anybody tries to tell you different they are full of crap.. I been running them all with 0 problems, try and get at least 2 or 3, that way you can play lol..

Id also go with at least 35C to 40C you won't really see that big of a difference until you get into the higher C's..
