I have one glued set and one non glued and so far neither set has messed up on me yet. The black chrome spoked set is on my flux xl and 8 hole black are on my Rival. I thought about tearing my non glued set down and adding glue just to be safe.

Comparison of my Rival and one of my XL Fluxes. Both have new Axial beadlocks and 40 Series Trenchers on them:

Once I locked the center diff it acts like my fluxes on 4s. I'm loving my Rival and want to mod it but its holding up great being basically stock.
what did you use to lock the diff? I've been thinking about trying to lock it because 500k fluid just doesn't cut it for me, would be awesome if there was a clutch type setup like a limited slip diffs in 1:1 stuff

Hi guys. I'm in the process of upgrading my motor for my rival to a Castle 1717. I originally thought that I could run the same esc I did with the 1515 (2200). After researching, I'm more confused than ever.... Can I use that same esc (v2), or do I need to purchase the MM Extreme? Then there is the MM Extreme 2. Too much.. Will i be able to get full power/torque out of the 1717 without the whole castle link software to unlock the esc? Help!! The 2200kv is a great motor, but due to the weight of the truck, modified with bling, it gets hot. I've tried gearing, tires, etc. I believe that the 1717 will be a much better option for that heavy beast.

Thanks

If you want it truly locked use steel epoxy or jb weld. The clay type steel epoxy works great and is fully setup within an hour.

Cool

OK, peeps, try not to drool to much on your key board.
I know, not the right truck for this thread, but, It'll work.
The stock Losi tire and wheels are exactly 16 ounces each.

I thin I have solved my truck´s "lie down and play death" problem...

I swapped that original radio system to my other radio system, and now I´ve been driven 2 sets of lipos without any problems.

Except that one time I showed my Rival off to friend of mine.

I did some pretty good bashing/jumping in the slope full of pretty small rocks.
Suddenly my trucks steering just jammed pointing to right.

I did quick look around, and did not notice any fault, so I told my friend that the show is over, and I head home to find out what is problem.

When I got back home and took my truck off in the trunk of my car, and dropped it in the asphalt on my parking lot I noticed rock maybe size of a pinkynail dropped off the truck, and after that the steering worked again...

I really don´t where that rock could have been jammed...

OK my 160A ESC came in. I will post pics as soon as it's installed.

I promised my son that I would work on his truck first. I bought him a Traxxas Stampede XL-5. He has burned through 2 motors (12T Titan + HPI GT); all of his friends got the brushless version of the truck and he was feeling bad that his truck was so slow. I think a 120A ESC + 5.5T 6000kV sensored motor + 11.1V 4400mah lipo should take care of that problem. I bought him some aluminum shocks that I found in deal extreme (dx). They were extremely cheap so I will report back to see if they are worth considering for our trucks.

If anyone wants a three run old set of Rival wheels and tires send me a PM as I'm going to be selling mine.

you have pm sir.

I feel bad, I've been neglecting my Rival, I haven't ran it in over a week. I had an e clip come off of the pin for the rear drive shaft, no clue how that happened, had to happen right after I had been able to pull of consecutive back flips on 4s off a decent dirt hill (2ish ft tall), sadly no video, e clip awal'd right when I got confident enough to video it. Hopefully next time I get out to that spot it hasn't been changed, and I will get some video of it.

After you get new e clips, I suggest getting some heat shrink and putting a piece over the cup, e clip and pin portion. It will prevent the clips from ever coming out during driving and easily removed for maintenance.

that's a very good idea, I don't know if I ever would have thought about that.

now fix that rig and go beat it some more. The Mgt 8.0 rebuild may even be the same parts. I would assume so sense it uses the same cup, pin and stupid eclip setup. The MGT 4.6 used a grub /setscrew setup which was nicer because you could just lock-tite it down.
