Going a few posts back, blaming an administration about messing long ongoing topics is just silly. Most of the topics are very compound and don't take too much to mess up. Also, it is a very common tactic of a poor administration to sit on topics and let the following try and tackle them in an effort to make themselves look good and the successor look bad. There are actually some very reliable independent resources that track the action and performance of government.

Lastly, judging any administration based on gas prices is at best naive. The petrochemical industry is the wealthiest and most influential on the planet. They have had politicians and policymakers in their pockets since forever (a shining example being Russian natural gas titan and former German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder). If they see an opportunity to raise prices and maximize profits based on even a hint of a half assed excuse, they will. Nobody really holds them accountable.

ejtnt: If you have an example of how Biden did better than Trump I am all ears but let me tell you the USA has the capability to make its own oil and what did Biden do? Shut that shit down. I can mention other examples of how biden has done nothing to help the everyday person but nothing will directly help as much as the price of gas.

I heard about this, how is this supposed to be profitable/who is actually paying for this?

I personally spend approx. 70 Ursula von der Leyens per month on public transport. Then there's taxis on top of that....

Some of old joe blunders:
1. Promised to be bipartisan on the first day signed 17 executive orders to roll back effective policies under Trump.
2. Canceled the Keystone XL pipeline which resulted in over 30,000 jobs lost
3. Canceled artic oil exploration
4. Because of those cancelations he had to cry to OPEC nations to increase production so prices could go down

5. Started the deal back up with Iran. Giving Iran our tax money to fund terrorist groups around the world.
6. Has failed to hold China accountable for anything
7. Has done nothing to curve the influx of illegals coming through the southern border.
8. Put America in more debt with the useless 8 trillion dollar spending plan.
9. Left Afghanistan without any plan resulting in the loss of several service members, and giving terrorists a ton of new American toys paid for by the American tax dollars
10. When covid was happening what did the "big guy" do? Oh right, spend his time bitching about Republicans instead of setting higher goals for vaccine distribution.
11. Cancels pipeline to help America but pressures other countries to deal with it Nord Stream 2 pipeline
12. Stopped Operation Legend during a crime wave in the US

The problem is they're all old fuddy duddy boomers who are out of touch and just living in their reality. Nothings going to change until they lose their strangle hold on politics and younger people start occupying more seats. They're still in full stride unfortunately. We've got about a another 20 years before we'll start to see a shift in the reign of power. The oldest millennial will be 62 by then haha. I just want to see universal healthcare, tax reform, and livable wages with affordable housing. None of those things are going to happen with the 65+ crowd still running our government and politics. Because they don't want it. Things suite them now the way they are, so they simply don't care.

I don't see universal health care being a thing in USA not just because of my inbuilt dislike of anything handed out by the government but because I haven't seen any model that won't bankrupt the economy. Now lower drug prices I can see that being a thing if we stop subsidizing European medicine that is why I was in support of the mfn model. When my mother and me first came to Florida she used to make just 7 dollars and some change an hour and that was enough for a little apartment and food. Now 15 dollars an hour isn't even enough, livable wages and affordable housing can not be achieved without a stop to the continued printing of our money devaluing its worth.

I don't think universal healthcare is bankrupting Europe. Our economy is already bankrupted, so it doesn't matter, that ship has already sailed, sunk, and been colonized by coral. If the gov't can address the debt(not ever likely to happen in our lifetime) and redistribute taxing(also ain't happening), then they could make a workable healthcare system. You're right. $7 an hour hasnt been a livable wage since 05/06 maybe. You'd need at least $20 an hour now to get by. Lowering drug prices and doctor bills would absolutely have to happen regardless of universal healthcare or not. But it certainly needs to happen first for universal healthcare to even have chance.
