This is what I'm talking about. They will say the dumbest things to keep their followers scared of republicans. What kills me is how they tell people that being God fearing is a bad thing. You know, if everyone actually feared God, this world would be a much better place.

I know there is a broader perspective there. That is just a quick summary. For example, many states are making homelessness more attractive. The homeless receives many benefits, both financially and legally. If you are homeless, you don't have to register your car or get in insured. If you are LGBTQ and homeless in San Francisco, you will get a monthly check for $1400. You don't even have to be homeless. Just tell the government you are, and you get paid. It's a huge scam that they cannot get you on.

Drug usage? They practically promote it here. You just have to see it all to understand it. It is purely a head slapper.

Divorce rate are high because celebrities treat marriage as just a long relationship. Then they promote it as being the cool thing to do if you don't get what you want.

People can be religious all they want, but government and religion shouldn't mix. Politics and religion should remain separate, but its not. It really stifles science. Imagine the shit we could have if bible thumpers and the god fearing minded their fucking business.

Religion and politics is not supposed to be one, but there is no way that is possible. A politician will always make judgement calls according to their beliefs, regardless if it is in God or not in God. Now, I totally accept someone's opinion on religion. But, if you think about it, would you trust someone who fears a higher power if they are to make selfish decisions, or would you trust someone more if they feared no recourse if they made a selfish decision to benefit themselves? The world, today, is in a lot worse place than it was 20 years ago. A lot more people fear God than they do now.

Of course, a lot of people fear god less now what do you expect when teachers themselves mock Christianity not religion but Christianity specifically. Which is funny because of the three Abrahamic religions Christianity is not even remotely close to the worst. That is just the opinion of someone who is agnostic.

I think that religion is not really a factor when it comes to scientific excellence. A lot of the people you mentioned SC were born in a time where their religion was more or less chosen for them. I think it is more of a matter of socio-economic factors that contribute mostly around the resources available (be it financial, educational, physical etc.) to people.

Moreover, morals and ethics, while having intersections with religion, are not mutually dependent. There is a huge body of scientific work that supports this argument. Ethical and moral values are developed through a wide array of factors from social and political all the way to biological and physiological. It is a fascinating topic that often brings about some very uncomfortable answers about humanity.
