What i've learned from others, shocks have to be 90 degrees vertical to the arms for best damping effectivity. If you change the wheelbase, you have to add or remove spacers.

Qatmix 07-08-2016 02:56 PM

Actually by adding spacers to the bottom of shocks it makes the dampening more aggressive, by adding to the top it makes the car less aggressive. By adding both top and bottom (like the rear of the setup) it makes the weight transfer further back giving the feeling of more grip.

So it is a tuning aid, but if you want the same feel then move the bottom and top to correspond with the suspension pin spacer changes.

Great, thanks!

You sound upset. Most people would be happy their laptimes dropped.:lol::lol:

Sorry , I meant I lost about 3/10ths a lap. Instead of gaining corner speed I felt like I lost corner speed.

Qatmix 07-10-2016 12:32 PM

You want a narrow front end or lots of sweep to get more corner speed if it's low grip. The wide front works a treat when you have grip.

Also make your turnbuckles shorter by adding a shim in them to space them out a little. You will have more camber gain so will have more turn in and exit steering.

You can add more roll in the car also. By taking screw out under your bulkheads .

besides adding a clamp mounted fan to the motor, are there any other ways of mounting a fan on the chassis to cool the motor?

Right-sized piece of good double-sided tape does the job nicely (assuming your fans have flat sides). I had two such fans taped to my 419. Only time they came loose is if someone t-boned my car in a very major way and then the fans were the least of my worries.

Phil.

Ah ok, I thought a company would of made a mount or something. I guess I'll use double sided tape for now.

Does anyone know what rate the kits springs in the 419X are supposed to be?

With my amateurish measurements, using a Gforce Spring Rate Gauge, I found them to be about 14 lbs or close to C2.5. I hope someone can measure them with a better instrument to confirm or correct me. FYI, I also measured the SMJ springs and for sure, comparatively, the 419X black springs are softer than the SMJ Blue short. As always, I reserve the right to be wrong. Hope that helps though.
