Best car I ever had. Still have, 14 years later. Cummins Turbo; 21psi of boost on a stock v6! (I built the wiring harness and ECM from scratch. Ditched the distributor and went with triple coil pack DIS ignition

Just something about those lines. Red one next to mine has an LS6 with an LSX supercharger, Purple one is also an LS, with a Magnussen supercharger

Plus, who can forget about Knight Rider? That was a Trans-Am; but same decade and bodystyle.

One day mine will have an all aluminum 5.7 LS truck engine and a T56 manual transmission. The entire aluminum LS weighs less than the cast iron v6!

The last time GM drew a car body that looked good ended in 1967 with the C2 Vette.

It's still a Camaro. And not the Catfish one. Fourth gens are the pigs LOL.
And I actually prefer the second gen Camaros over the first gens. First gens were great and all, but the late second gen looked aggressive as hell.
If you've never driven a third gen like mine setup properly, that explains why you don't like them. They'll handle better than 95% of the cars on the road today, excluding and including some AWD models. Pig or not, catch me if you can

Driven plenty of 3 and 4th Gen Camaros and C2, C3, C4, C5 Vettes. I’m not a fan of long hood cars with a V8 under the hood. Great for straight line racing, but can’t see an apex for💩

As for property set up, well it’s relative I guess, can be said for any sports car and what you’ve done to it. I can take you for a spin in my friends 997 Turbo, it’s properly set up to 840hp at the wheel!

Early 90s I had a manual 928S4.. Not a dog like the automatic version. It was V8 that let you see an upcoming apex! 😁 I destroyed C4s regularly.. favourite was with 2 friends in the car on 101 N, pulled away from him hitting 140 before I took the exit ramp.

Since the C5 Corvette, the body has looked like a Ferrari in front, NSX from the side and the only thing that makes it look like a Vette are the tail lights.

The C8 is the saddest looking from the side. It looks put together, doesn’t flow at all. Build quality is extremely poor.

I don’t discount it’s performance. It’s a beast and corvettes have always been.

They just need to hire some designers from Italy to draw up these cars.

You're hurting my feelings Raman! I badly want Tamiya to make a C8 body. This Protoform C8 isn't cutting it to match my big one.

Fun facts about the third gen Camaro's.
The 87+ 2.8 v6 equipped ones were actually equal to or faster on the street than the 305 equipped ones.
The v6 Camaro had a better COG, thanks to the engine being further back than the v8, and handled better than its v8 counterparts.
Drop that boat anchor iron block and heads and swap it for an all aluminum LS, which weighs less than the v6 engine, and you've got yourself a very quick car with handling to boot.

For the third gens, If you didn't put the proper work and energy into it, you had a dog 💩 car. I'm not mad you don't like them. Everyone likes something different and that's what makes the discussions interesting.
I just feel that you got the wrong impression from them. It wasn't till a couple of decades ago that the LS came out and people started figuring out it was a no brainer for the third gen, cause lets face it, it doesn't handle so well with a boat anchor under the hood. But, put the right engine in and it changes the handling quite a bit; it no longer pushes the nose when cornering. I bought the v6 Camaro because it handled better. After a 2 inch drop, and suspension work to match, it would carve the curves with the best of em. And once that boost came on out of that Holset diesel turbo, it was like lighting a rocket.

The faces were priceless when that boost kicked in.
I really want a quality third gen body. But I'll probably have to 3D print one.

You got some results from a time attack or autocross to back this claim? How about a lap record anywhere?

Raman, that is an absolutely gorgeous Alfa! I have the Tamiya Guilia body still unpainted.

simple, agreed.....maybe the slightly chunky looks had to be done to clear the TT-02 shocktowers. Tamiya should do a TT-03 with low shocktowers and bring back the 2007 Raybrig NSX body too.
