I have an SR and I'm curious if the upper deck (chassis brace) from the TT-01E will fit. Since those two holes on either diff cover are open on the SR, was hoping it would work/line up. Anyone tried it?
EDIT - Never mind, just found someone else ion the thread that asked the same question, seems it's a tad too short. Bummer. |

Have you seen the TT02 top deck from fibre-lyte.co.uk? It was designed by thercracer, not sure if the SR is different to the standard or S though?

hello friends I have a tt 02 rr and my question is if someone has changed the internal ratio of 2.6?
|
Just picked up 2 of the TT-02 kits as Xmas gifts for my kids. For a whopping $160 for 2 kits, I can’t complain. They’ll be bashers for sure. Aside from bearings, is there any other must haves? These will never see the inside of a track. Just ran in parking lots or streets.

I would get a steel pinion gear for durability. Tamiya kit aluminum pinion is very soft and wears fast. If you plan to go fast with the car, consider getting the aluminum propeller and joint shafts set. Some 5mm and 8mm shims are also good to have to adjust diff gear mesh during the build. You might need to buy foam inserts for the tires separately, if your kit doesn't include them. Oil filled shocks are a nice upgrade if kit comes with basic friction shocks.
|
Not worried about the friction shocks at this time.
I will be sure to use foam inserts on the tires I buy. No going fast for a while. Keeping them in the 10-15mph range for a while. That should keep breakage to a minimum and allow them to learn how to drive. |
This is going be fun and good project with my TT02RR.
These parts looks awesome. https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rct...9472982478.jpg https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rct...e3bd93e373.jpg |
I added a Wiki. Go add setups, upgrades and homegrown hop ups.

The TT02S and TT02SR use the same arms as Tamiya TC chassis. They do not have an upper arm. The SR adds a few extra hop ups to the S. Basically I'm trying to figure out, if I only bought one version, which one would be the best from a mechanical and performance standpoint. The -RR certainly looks like the best of the "original" TT-02 design, but maybe the -SR version is more like a higher-end touring car? I honestly have no idea, I've never built a TT-02 of any kind before. |

Are any of the hop-ups added to the -SR version the same as the hop-ups added to the -RR version?
