Disregard the two last posts, I was able to get the gear to fit. My TT-02 is actually pretty fast on 2S with the gear change now! Yah hoo!
But now, I need to make some other upgrades. Going from forward to reverse and vise versa, I would hear a nasty grinding noise. And once I got to max speed (30-35mph), my steering would pretty much go into a death wobble.
Suggestions?

See the manual of high speed adaptor fir proper assembly.
Does the blue adaptor fit completely into the recess of the spur gear?
Both have to fit together without gap. Otherwise spur gear can wobble and do crazy things and kill itself and the pinion gear or some bearings.
Recheck these things before next driving!

You should have put in the screws from the other side in order to fix the spur gear correctly.

It's a 64P 70T spur gear. The only one that I can find online that fits the high speed gear set mount is the Arrowmax, which is just too large. I had to trim the edge of the gear with a knife to BARELY get the mount attached.

Yeah, I noticed my screws were in the wrong way, I fixed that. Are there other gears I can used that don't have such a tight fit? I assume I won't be able to get them apart without cutting the spur gear off.

If you can get to the same FDR with a different gearing combo with a more common spur it might be good or just stay with it. Just buy an extra gear or two.

Built this kit last year for fun. Now set up for rear wheel drive only. 19-turn brushed motor. 40mm cooling fan wired to a small voltage regulator to set desired fan speed. Chassis cutout made under motor for additional air flow. Stock kit TBLE-02S speed control with 3.5mm banana plugs for motor connection and TRX plug for battery.
Some of the optional, non-kit parts to finish the build are: ball bearings, Yeah Racing 55mm oil filled shocks, aluminum motor mount, Robinson Racing 24T mod .6 steel pinion gear, metal suspension balls for front steering knuckles, Tamiya hard tire sponge/insert, lightweight M4 wheel lock nuts. Most screws used are M3 socket hex variety.
Differentials were built with steel M2 flat head socket hex machine screws with low profile aluminum washers. Longer than the stock kit self tapping screws, going deeper into the diff case to make for a more rigid, stronger diff assembly. Diff internal is filled with sticky Tamiya anti-wear grease. 0.2mm thick 8mm shim installed for better diff gear mesh.
