Well, given in and picked up a Zakspeed Capri anyway. Debating whether to go with a silvercan, use the Torque Tuned in the kit or be radical (and very slow) and fit a 380. Comments welcome. As usual with my builds it will run full bearings and a TEU-105BK speedo. Will run it at the club nights on carpet.

I would recoment the silvercan over the 380 motor (these type of motors are more suited for 6.6V li-fe batteries and they will run very hot cause of the higher voltage)
I've been using a 7.4 lipo battery with a 380 motor in my 1/12th RM-01 and the motor became extremely hot after 7 or 8 minutes driving.

Currently i'm running my TT-02 with a speedpassion V3 21.5T motor with a speedpassion cirtix ESC and the speed is fine (speed is good, not to slow or to fast)

I just finished the TT02 rally and what I can say is the kit is much better than the older TT01 I used to have.

tighter steering less slop all around and the chassis is way better and the drive train way more smoother and it runs smooth and very nice... Only thing bad those darn kit no oil shocks!!
and who makes shocks I can't find anything!

I had a look around for shocks, and yeah racing do a set at a reasonable price. Could only find them on rc mart though. Will grab you a link later when not on the phone!

For those who already have the kit, Can I use a low profile servo (savox 1251) without needing extra bits?

Yes it's possible to mount the savox 1251 low profile servo without needing extra bits.
This type of servo's just gives you more free space behind the servo for the other elektronics.
And you can use the RM01 servo mounts to move the servo an extra 3mm towards the front, this can onbly be used when using a turnbuckle instead of the plastik part that is mounted between the servo saver and the steeringbridge.

I went ahead and ordered a TT-02 :) My TRF101 is on the backburner at the minute, so will be using the 1251 in the TT-02 instead!

Another quick question though, Do the HPI bodyshells fit this? For example, the mclaren body shell? The car looks very adjustable, but do I use 190mm or 200mm shells, or can I use both?

The TT-02 chassis is a narrow chassis, even the width between the wheels is rather narrow. You can use 200mm body's but that really doesn't look great cause the wheel arches won't be filled correctly with the wheels cause the body is to wide for this narrow chassis.
Therefor i would recommend to use only 190mm body's in combination with wheels that have an offset of about 2mm (also depending on the width of the body)
And if the wheel arches of the body still aren't filled correctly then you can always use some wheel spacers of 0.5 or 1mm, but do not use more then 1mm.
You also need some shim plates of 5mm for shimming the wheel outdrive axles, otherwise you will have to much play (shimming is done between the outer ball bearing and the pin that goes through the wheel axle).
I used 0.5mm of shims on all 4 wheel axles to have less play.
Also an imortand upgrade is to use the high speed gear set (54500) to be able to use smaller spurs/bigger pinions to increase the FDR.

So I have been experimenting more with the TT02 as a race car and now I can gear it for Blinky I am getting it on the pace with only a few minor tweaks.

The other thing I am experimenting with is adjustable rear Toe. I will post a solution on the blog soon after a bit more testing, but its coming on pretty good atm. (And technically its legal for Tamiya Cup races)
