Well, I was expecting at least steel dogbones, proper friction dampers and C-hub-type suspension.. TL-01 was also low cost and it had these basic things..
Some low-cost chassis with same or even lower price have FRP parts, aluminium motor holders and oil dampers... Why TT doesn't? My question, will the car actually come with bearings, not bushings Whats up with that tamiya, it would cost tamiya maybe $5 to throw in a set of cheap bearings. Plastic driveshaft ??, really, why not just make the car out of wood & cardboard. Its as if they really dont care. A alu shaft would cost Tamiya maybe 20c to make ?? TT01 has really been an overpriced throwback to 10 years ago. Its honestly the sort car car you'd expect from a no-name Chinese company & sold on ebay for $50 TT02 :nothing of significance, overpriced, underspecced Tamiya will make bucketloads of $$ on upgrades, thats why those common parts arent on the TT01 or TT02 Locally we have guys who end up spending $500++ on TT01 upgrades (yes) & still have a car that honestly isnt good for anything but puttering around a carpark for a bit of fun, Or drifting . Toughest RC onroad ever made though. |
If this car didnt have the Tamiya name tag on it, it would be a joke.
lets be honest, if this car was a Henlong we'd be making jokes about it right now. |
Yeah I miss my TL01, I wish they updated it instead of the TT01. I think Tamiya's goal here is to build "easy to assemble" kit for like 9 years old upwards crowd.
|
The was mention of the prop shaft being shorter in a previous post....
Anyway to back this up? I really can't see Tamiya changing much as they would want most TT01 hop up parts to be compatible so they do not have to re-engineer new parts thus keeping their own manufacturing costs down. Just a thought! |
Its 2013 and they're still using dynamites for power?... LOL
|
Does the stock drivetrain even handle brushless power?
|
I don't see what all the fuss is about:confused:. It's a cheap as chips (for Tamiya) RTR designed to be sold to the masses. 99% of them will be run til something breaks, then thrown away. Last TT01 I bought, was just so I could get the body. Sold the chassis, so basically got the highly detailed body for free:lol::lol:
Get over it. Want something decent, then buy something decent. Everyone on this forum surely knows that. |

So, this chassis no longer has the fixed gearing of the TT-01? The pinion/spur mesh can be adjusted like every other on-road car on the market, finally?

Aw c'mon. Bushings. Plastic shaft. Same crappy non-adjustable mega-slop steering. And so on. For "only" 170 euros which only includes kit, body, crap motor and esc. Sorry Tamiya, was expecting more.
For that money you can get a maverick strada rtr and I doubt it's crappier. |
Rmart were the first to have them in stock late last week......they are all sold out already!!! WOW must be the quickest sale of ten kits ever!!!
|
What would be the best chassis for under $200? I've come across TB02/TB03 but doesn't seem to be many hop ups for them. Sakura D3 CS sounds good has oil shocks etc
