What brand spur gears are you running?

lilws6 07-29-2017 05:44 PM

I got a kimborough but had to drill 2 new holes to be able to use all 4

Raman 07-29-2017 06:56 PM

Just an FYI I am running a spur with only two fastener holes and I have 30 packs through the car with no issues.

I ran the car a bunch this weekend, it is amazing how much difference the ambient temperature can make on running temps. The other day running the car in 90* temps and 115-120* surface temps the motor was right at 155-160*. On Saturday we were right around 70* ambient and overcast, surface temps were right around 80* and the motor never got over 135*. I also think that my two packs may be getting softer, one does not have a lot of cycles on it but is like 6 years old, the other pack is 18 months old but has over 100 cycles. I treat my packs well but you can only ask so much of them. Can anyone confirm if the Gen Aces 2S 5000MAH 50C packs fit in the TT02? They seem to get good reviews and they are nicely priced.

Cheers,
Jim

Gen ace batteries are good for the money. Not sure if they fit. I've got an smc 6500 that I know fits in there just right. They are good bang for the money good quality.

Yep should fit. I run a Fantom 6100 without issue.

LJH 07-31-2017 11:28 AM

Thanks guys,
I measured and it does look like it should fit, not by a lot but thinking I am good to go. I ordered a pack up to see how they do.

My 4000mah pack is dieing quickly, I ran it for my normal 15 minutes which usually leaves 20-25% left on my Hyperion charger and when I plugged the pack in this morning it showed 10% remaining based on voltage and them it proceeded to only take 2300mah.....I can't really complain as the pack has over 100 cycles and has a noticeable bend to it from a crash last fall in my RC10.

Cheers,
Jim

Hi everyone, I come with a question after dumping few sets of tires...
How's the tire wear on your TT02? Mine one keep wearing out/grooving near the inner edge, it happen even on the stock spec before I modify/upgrade the car. Is this normal?
This appears in all 4 wheels, front wheels appearing first and wear more than rears

How much camber are you running?

The ring of death.....I use to get that with my old TA03 back in the day and I am starting to see it on my regular TT02 (none adjustable camber) on the rears running the Gravity/Ride USGT tires, guessing they have 25 full packs through them. I always figured that was caused by tire wear and the fact that the "tread" of the tire has lost enough material so that it is not as structurally rigid as it was when new to the tire is starting to move under the loads of cornering.

How many runs do you have on the tires and on what kind of surface?

Cheers,
Jim

You only need 2 holes

This is caused by the foam insert being too soft.

Get a molded insert that supports the tire and your tyres will last longer

That's the exact same Gen Aces battery I'm using. I got it to fit with no problems. I am using the FRP battery plate, so I don' t know if that makes a difference.

What do you guys think is the better value right now, the TT-02R and add a body or get a plain TT-02 with body and add the hop ups. I have no use for the stock esc or motor in the base kit. I have one TT-02 and was thinking of getting another.
