Thats a big OUCH!!! I am shocked that those standard parts costs a bomb! Why don't you try your LHS or ask the ppl around at the track to see if they have spare ones for sale.

Today I disassembled the chassis, cleaned it up, then reassembled it. To get it race ready, I still need:

I've got a spare diff (in new parts) and belts as well. As I only kept them as a spare I could let you have them at a good price. PM me if you are interested.

Saz: Thanks for the offer, but I went ahead and orderd a new kit at only $129.00. In addition to getting a Tamiya body, I'll also gain the benefit of having spare parts, new bearings, and 2 new diffs.
I also bought a set of used FL coated Tamiya shocks that are in excellent condition.
My goal is to keep my spending to a minimum. In that regard, I'm still under $200. That's a far cry from the amount of money I spend for my Yokomo BD and LCG kits. I'm very pleased.

Exactly as I would have done. It's way too expensive to piece a diff together.

I would run in the 5.2 - 5.5 range and check speed, and heat of the motor after 5 minutes.
if it is not the warm, go closer to 5.0. If it is hot move toward 5.7
I race indoors on asphalt, and our gearing is usually anywhere from 4.8 - 5.5
No rules yet for TCS here in the USA yet. Soon is what we hear.

hey guys been looking for a good place to get help with my ta05 and looks like I have found it I run on a smooth asphalt track with low to medium grip and set up tips right now I am at 1 1/2 deg camber in the front 2 in the back with 5 mm ride hight all the way around I have #1 pistons with 50wt oil assoc yellows in the front and purples in the rear I like it but seem to a little snappy loose and help Oh i have been running a spool up front thanks
