Yes, I run 48p in my TC, however, I am running a 10.5. Not sure what kind of gearing you would want for 5.5.
anyone run 48p with 5.5?

With the Cyclone TC with the 18T centre pulleys, run a 81T spur with a 21t or 20t pinion
With older cyclone that has 16T centre pulleys run a 81T spur with a 23t or 24t Pinion
How much timing in esc and motor can have a huge impact tho also the track size.
But that should be right as long as your not running excessive timing.
the 81T is the bigest i would run that will fit comfortably without hitting the rear top deck or hanging out bottom of chassis. unless you have the optional brushless motor mount which raises the spur gear shaft 2mm.
the total teeth count of pinion and spur added together must equal 100Teeth or more other wise the motor wont reech the spur.
I have not run the cyclone for a year or so. but im prety sure my memory is serving me correct.

just looking for some opinions
im thinking of ordering the newer version of the HBX chassis(exotek) but i wanted to if i should just stick with the one i already have(the first version) i run on asphalt with a 5.5turn motor. thanks in advance
I have both and I've found that the first version has a stiffer chassis. I know that there are a few extra cut outs in the second version but I'm really surprised at the difference in flex between the two. For now I'm sticking with the second version and I'm determined to make it work. I run 17.5 rubber carpet.

I never tried the first version. I have the second version and love it. It's made my life a whole lot easier dialing in my car with lipo. Balance is spot on, and it seems like the window in which my car works is larger now. So for me, thats pretty awesome. I don't have to sit and rack my brain on setup throughout the day. Thats just my experience though

Setupwise? I think I posted the setup sheet a few pages back for carpet. I'm running Exotek's newer style cyclone chassis, but fitted with steel cups. Works out really well.

Anyone know when the new prototype will be launch? no info on the official website. I wonder why the Cyclone TC-D also was not updated but available in Singapore & Malaysia.
