Look at the steering, the way the diffs are held in place, the motor mount, etc. |

The prototype looks as if it has Pro4...
knuckles, arms, swaybars, bumper, chubs and maybe a few more bits....that would be perfect and help speed development :) I was going to buy a TRF415....but now I think I'll wait to see if this car makes it out later in 2005. |

aye, it's all in the details....
Me and TRF415boy were actually discussing just the other night about changes that could be made to the 415 to move the weight in (steming from discussion about the new xray, and whether or not the motor is closer to the centerline than the 415.... we concluded it isn't and that the rear bulkheads are further apart than the 415), and a number of the details that are on this car came up, including spur dividing the belt pulleys, motor moved in, batts moved in etc. Guess great minds think alike eh :p Looks good, and also looks like it's using the Pro4 suspension....hmm Pro 5 perhaps? Most certainly be interested to see what the mirage guys run at the BRCA nationals this year ;) |
Are they all using the same CAD program to design their cars and work out weight distribution.
It is a nice car, but looks like the Corally RDX, Tamiya, new XRAY to name but a few...... |

But pretty well all belt drives are going to "look" similar now, just as most shaft-drive cars are going to "look" the same. The difference is all in the details. I think with the unicrank, the driveline layout, and layout of the diff housings this yet to be named car stands out from the others out there. But I have yet to see the new Xray.

just my 2 yens...
if you were to switch positions of the rear and front belt, you can place the motor that much closer to the centre line without having any part of the belts rubbing against the motor mount. a stand alone motormount be be nice too. |
I still don't see anything NEW or original on that car, not to say it isn't nice or don't go well, but, there doesn't seem to be anything NEW coming along.
