Duo3 gearing should be very similar. However I think your ESC setup is unnecessarily aggressive and you could tone the ESC down and run more gear instead. I guess in the end it is all different ways to the same result. I run settings more like this:

.2 Turbo delay (not .02)
50 Boost
10 turbo
2 ramp
5000 rpm start
18000 rpm end
FDR 6.0-6.3 and 0 to 1 tick of motor timing

Default Screw size Duo 3

What size are the 3 flat head screws in the timing plate on Duo 3 motor? I think they may be 2.5X6mm, could any one confirm this. I boogered up one of the hex holes on one, I should not use old hex wrenches. I would like to replace them with stainless or harder material, would you know where I might purchase small fasteners for this? Thanks

Default D3

If you research the D3 you will find out of the box it is set for high torque not rpm. If you want higher rpms you will have to change the rotor. The factory one should be purple. The high rpm rotor is light blue. If you haven't changed it, you will need a higher roll out than the high rpm rotor.

Cheers for the info. It may seem agressive but it's very manageable. I will try it on the same gearing im on now and temp it at 3 minutes etc during practice.

Cheers again !

That setup will feel weak if you stay at the same FDR.

The factory purple is a 12.3 broad power band. There are 6 rotors to choose from. Would like to get some input on which rotor to run for 17.5 spec tc non boost.

WOW...this is a definate improvement on the Duo2. Didn't have the best day at the STCC but alot in the same boat as the tyres are very inconcistant.

Settings I finished on on the Tekin RS Pro -

Start RPM - 3300
End RPM - 15001
Turbo - 16
Boost - 53
Delay - 0.02
Ramp - 3
FDR - 7.12
Approx 1 notch advance timing on the motor (no marks on the can which is my only very small disapointment)

End temp Av. - 55Deg C ...you could hold the motor.

The car was pulling hard from corners and just screamed along the straight. I was outdraging people....big smile on my face. These units are series kit.

Well done Trinity / EPIC !!

Glad it worked out for you. I will say that the cans with no marks for timing were only in the first batch of motors. Every batch since them has had timing marks identical to the Duo2's.

Default Convert D3 17.5 to 13.5

Can you easily convert a D3 17.5T to 13.5T with just simply replacing with the EPIC 13.5T D3 Stator?
