I have an LRP Stock Spec 17.5 timing 4dot and a Stock Spec ESC blinky mode. My car is as fast or faster (down the straight) as any of the other cars. The temps are good. I have run the same gearing on asphault and carpet with no changes.

hey guys my name is Roddy.I just got a used TC6 and will eventually turn into a TC6.1.Here's what i need help with i been out of RC for a while and only bashed, now i want to get into on-racing both carpet and asphalt.since i been out they had a lot change and now I'm totally lost.I never seen so many options available with all the esc and i don't know which one to choose.here's my thing i do have a budget in a way, then don't.i know everybody usually get the tekin or mamba max,but i want to be different i would like to know which esc out of all the manufactures that would best fit the tc6/6.1 and that has the best features period. Also i can not choose the esc that best fits my driving style cause i never been on the track yet.I have been looking at the speed passion reventon s and r,the viper, hobbywing xerun v3,novak,tekin,lrp,vampire racing esc, orion, losi almost all of them.if you guys can tell me the pros and cons of each that you use and the features on then it would be very helpful for me
Thanks,
Roddy

It all depends on the class you are going to run. Need more info. VTA vs Mod is a completely different answer.

Hey guys I have a question about setups. I have a tc6.1 and im running the box stock setup at the moment. I like the way the car feels with a few exceptions. My f/r camber is -2 and toe is at +.5. Shock oil is 40wt losi f/r and I'm running 35wt losi in gear diff. I would like the car to have more steering, and also rear traction as the rear drifts around corners. What adjustments would I need to do? I'm running 17.5 blinky with full timing and 96/52 on a medium to large asphalt track in hot weather. Any tips would be appreciated.

thanks for the suggestions. the only pushes when its on power, and loses rear traction off power during hard turns. it doesn't spin out, but it tends to slide the rear around the turns and slows me down. so to clarify off power steering is great, but the mid corner on power steering is lacking. i think i might have the droop at 6 when it should be at 5 and maybe thats it. im also thinking of going to 37.5wt losi oil and see how it reacts. ill try 1 at a time and report back.

I felt the same way with the stock setup. The green rear springs, 35wt losi oil all around and adding another degree of rear toe made a big difference in locking the rear end in off power.

thats what i changed too in my setup, also change the droop to 5, that will make a huge difference

Why is it that every kit comes with a spool and rear diff now?
If the problems with wheel chatter are known due to spools, why not provide DCJ's from the mfr or at least with the kit?
Since gear diffs pretty much eliminate the possibility of slipping, why is there really a need for a spool in the front ? I suppose under low traction conditions i can see but wouldnt a diff provide better steering in med to high traction situations?
I have been driving a spool/rear diff for some time now and am considering trying a gear diff up front. Has anyone tried this with any success or is the spool really needed?
