sorry for i know it's not suit for the thread, but i really can not found where to ask.

my question,

I'm running on a lrp 4.5T x12 octa wind motor on my TC6, with 87 spur, 19 pinion, after few round (not complete 5 minutes) the motor heat to around 8x-9x degree, but even if i make it finish 5 minutes race with around 16-17 round, the heat still maintaince at 8x-9x degree, is there any problem with the heat on this figure? how to drop down the degree or what temperature should i maintaince for motor good health? Thanks for the help.

Your probably too hot (over geared) Drop to a smaller pinion.
Check your motor manual....most brushless motors, temp should be 160~175 F maximum. (my motors, after 5 minutes, 125*F
85*C, = 185*F.....that is above the maximum temp for most motors.

what pinion should i gear then? 18?

seen my gear ratio at the moment is 9.16 with 87 spur and 19 pinion, if gear smaller pinion again, i will move up to 9.6 gear ration, i will lost my top speed then...even with 9.16 my top speed already very bad.

What speedo?

Maybe too much timing?

4.5T are hot engines ;-)

My gear ratio is in range 87 / (21-23) at 48p for 4.5, 5.5T, 8Tdelta or 9Tdelta. Just correcting boost

Dont know if the mod motors are like the stock.ones but ntthe LRP x12's can run fast and reliable into the 200F range...

What timing insert are you using? You may need less timing and more gear.

You try this place, http://www.hobbysuperstore.com/browse.cfm/2,6.html, I've been there and it seems to have a decent selection...not sure on tc6/6.1 stuff. Its probably 30 mins or less from Miramar if you take 95 to 595...

This place, http://www.superiorhobbies.com/ has alot of tc6 stuff, its in Orlando if your looking to get something shipped locally.

Otherwise I just go with amain .... http://www.amainhobbies.com/advanced...ds=tc6&x=7&y=4.

Ask your local hobby shop to order them for you. Won't have yo pay shipping and support them.

do you mean motor timing? i don play with that at all, it's all default from lrp. By the way, after i try to adjust a bit from my gearing, the temp has been drop to around 7x-8x degree at the moment, may be i will try to adjust 1 or 2 more teeth on next time after i try for few days.

my gear ratio was 9.16 (87spur, 19pinion), now i add 1 teeth for pinion from 19 to 20, and gear ratio at the moment is 8.7, it's getting good on the temperature, i will monitor it and try to add 1 more teeth and see how it's go.

LRP X12 is okay upto an external temperature of 100degC. So if you're in the 80s or 90s I wouldn't worry about it.

I currently race with a TC6 in VTA and was wondering do I have to convert it to a TC6.1 before I can use DCJ'S? Im thinking about using the hotbodies or soon to be released Reflex racing ones.
