I think you can use xray model with 52mm CVds if you put it on 008/009 because they are different from T3...
T3 has build in 1 degree toe-in but 008/009 hasn't got that hence you use more shims to hit 3degrees =wider rear end ...
There is a big gap with 50mm driveshafts ,I'm gonna try 52mm on 008 to see if it's gonna be ok

Ran my spec-r diff for 5 heats and a final and it didn't feel smooth after. Stripped it down and the shims have worn really bad and the 2 pins are worn to. Does anyone know where i can get new shims and pins in the UK? Apart from the wear the diff ran great and did not leak i was using a 13.5T.

RC MARKET: Any chance you have tried other gear diff internals in the spec-r case, seeing as how you have access to them all ?
I'm thinking this would be the best setup, get rid of the cheap plastic inside and not have to "hack up" a case like the xray NT1

We used XRAY NT1 Rear gear diff with Xceed Nylon gear & LW shaft ,
not have issues !

My one also Leaks both Around the Pulley and near shafts...
there should be big O ring around the pulley to seal it and maybe better o rings around shafts...

I just built mine from new.
I used o-rings that people use for the front driveshaft stops inside the cups of a tamiya mini diff.
I too found that it leaked a little from around the pulley, so i just smeared some associated diff grease on the gaket, i think its too thin or worng type of material. seemed to fix the leaking. When i say leaking, i probably mean a small seeping thats all.
In terms of the 50mm shafts I have no idea what the issue is. I have installed it in the T3 with 52 mm shafts and the only time I can get it to bind is if the camber is greater tha 4.5 deg and the wheel is lifted about 15cm from level. eihter on of these i can't see me either using or happening in a race situation, unless i crash it, which means the gear diff binding will be the least of my worries. I am using the standard xray blades though which I have found are thinner than some after market types.

hi guys just letting you know that is fairly easy to fit the photon gear diff into the tamiya 416 and the xray t3 without mass mods.for the 416 you need the photon swing shaft protectors and you need to mod the ball diff pullly aswell and for the t3 its a pully mod and then it fits fine.....Attachment 620372

Just installed my spec R diff and I have notice two clear washers? do this go behind the drive shaft pins or should it be the thin metal ones?
looking good, only got 60wt shock oil in at moment for 10.5 rubber/carpet, do you think it will be any good?
