I started with asso. 80wt (approx 1000 cst) and thought it was a good starting point.
17.5 rubber/carpet.

looking good, only got 60wt shock oil in at moment for 10.5 rubber/carpet, do you think it will be any good?

cheers
Think I have this sorted now, my diff came with 2 black o rings on the out-side of the packaging, plus the thin clear rubber one inside, I tried to install all of these!!!!

Spec R
Why are you holding out on making one for the HB TC & TCX. I would like one for my HB TC but do not want to messing around changing this and that, so please make one ASAPP.

Cheers Malc

Remember, to each of those staetments you need to add the suffix "...in 13.5"

Hey guys

I have just bought one of these for my T3

do i NEED the 50mm driveshafts or can i use the 52mm ones ??

i understand it is posable to make the rear wider using shims , has any one tried this ???

what oil thickness is good to start with on a medium grip asphalt track ??

Thaks in advance Phil

I am running the T3 with 52mm shafts and 0.5mm spacers added between the plastic rollcentre holders and the alum suspension blocks (makes the width the same as on the T2008/9). I tested with the 50mm shafts (in the rear) at the Aldershot track before the last UK National and they gave alot less rear traction mid corner and very little drive off the corners. The rear end would break away under power and I was miles off pace until I switched back to the 52mm shafts...

If you add the shims, then take off your rear shocks and rollbar and test to see if the suspension is binding. You may notice it feels abit sticky when the blades are in the vertical position.... If this is the case, take the driveshafts out and dremel the 'outer circumference' of the blade. The aim is to round off the large corners which stick out just above the holes for driveshaft pins....

I would start with 2000cst and see how it goes, thats what I've ended up running at every track I've tested at so far.

Hope this helps.

Default T2009 Spec-r diff

Had my first meeting last night, technical track, carpet med-high grip.

The car worked really well, it suited my driving style as I always like my ball diff near to sliping but would suffer with loads of on power over steer.

The only problem was, and doubt its the diffs fault, was it diff'ed out on some of the hard onpower corners- corner where you accelerate around them. I think this is due to using Schumacher 60wt shock oil as it all I had.

I am planning on using 20,000 oil as this is the basic photon gear diff oil to try and stop this. I would not say I was loads faster but with car feeling more consistent I could focus on my laps.

any ideas about oils would be great, I ve also got a diff for the front with 100'000 weight in , is this worth a go in the back??? or will it be to thick, it was like treacle when I put the oil in!!!

I have 4 meets on my 416 spec R diff in 10.5 now, it started off a little notchy but it was much smoother after the first meet, now its really smooth. I built it with 2 shims on each side and 2 gaskets to maintain the mesh, and 1000wt kyosho oil

Default spec-r vs u-pro (micro-pro for photon) gear diff

Hi,

has anyone run both and have an opinion which one is better?

I know there is a weight difference, even the different diameter makes a difference when it comes to rotating mass, but are there construction differences, beside the obvious size difference, or durability comparisons?

Thanks.
