Thats one way of getting rid of the old 5 piece bulkheads

It looks like the bulkheads in the green kit are still the five piece ones. The rest of it looks pretty good though.

Hi Folks

Im looking at getting an EVO IV MS kit as i loved racing my old EVO III SE in stock class ( 27t ) racing but would like to know is there anything worth getting at the same time as the kit ? any problem areas ? I will be using the standard one-way up front so dont need another ball diff but may like the option of a spool.

Going to use my TRF415 for mod and 19t racing.

Sorry for being lazy but not got the time to read 100 pages of posts to find the answers to my own questions.

The kit has pretty much everything you need. I would get some extra bevel gears, and some flange tubes for underneath the caster blocks. Other than that the car is pretty much dialed out of the box. I've been racing mine for 2 months and haven't had a single break on the car.

Do you get a number of rear toe blocks in the EVO IV MS kit like you did in the EVO III kits or are they now on the options list ??

Csaari77 06-09-2005 09:55 PM

It doesn't come with any extra toe blocks or extra sway bars. It actually uses the toe blocks from the 415. I realized that after I bought a full set of blocks for the regular Evo IV.

I have just bought a Evo IV MS to run indoor on carpet, I am trying to get a new diff for the front but there appears to be no stocks in the uk so I am running the one-way and after just 1 week have stripped teeth off the diff input gear, apparently this is common, is this true? is there a cure? Also does anyone know of a descent model shop that would be prepared to ship to me. Thanks

I've only stripped one bevel gear on the front of the car. You just have to play with the shimming of the gears to get the right mesh. Once you have that set you shouldn't have a problem with it. Check out www.speedtechrc.com for parts. Another place to look is on Jason's store on ebay. If you do a search for the Evo IV on ebay it should pop up. I have had great experiences with both places. I'm not sure what shipping would cost you, but it is usually pretty fast.

actually, i think the Evo IV blocks are the same as the III's, but the 415 has a slightly different rollcenter. they will fit, just changes geometry a little. its maybe .7 mm? i forget... measured it too long ago...
