Over here in the UK it is not unheard of for one of the racing mags out there to use PSP and remove your sponsord decals if they do not fit in. I had a pic of my car in the mag this last month and they had all been removed. Thats something to get pissed about not having a pic of some bloody gearbox's stuck on ebay.

Anyhow if dont affect me does it so lets get back to the topic guys.

If I'm not mistaken R10 will have the Tamiya alu cups today or tomorrow?! That's what I was told, as I have a pre-order with him.

I have a couple of issue with my car.

1. Cells - I use seperate type cells, i've fitted the two end posts and the "Tamiya" battery bar but the cells seem to move a lot side to side within the slots. Would some foam tape to the bottom of the battery bar help or should I stick something to the inside of the lower deck to prevent them from moving? I tried using the plastic part that fits to the outside edge of the lower deck and the cells fit really well, but they rub on the cups on the prop. shaft.

2. Spur Gear - I'm just using the standard tamiya one, it moves a few mm forward and back - is this normal?

Thanks

Alan

The way you describe it, the pic was used as "event coverage". It wasn't used as an "advertisement". Totally different issue. Why do you think the magazine removed the sponsor decals? So the sponsors don't sue the magazine.

1. The way in which the cells are supposed to be mounted if side x side, is by tape through the holes in the chassis on either side of the slots. If you saw the fully hopped up chassis that Tamiya displayed at the Evo IVs launch, then you would see how that was done.

2. I think that this is normal. I also have a little bit of movement but that shouldn't affect performance as it is like 1mm and that's it, maximum.

It appears as if Surikarn is going to be using the Evo IV at the IFMAR ITSC World Championships. Not confirmed but this is what they suspect on the Team Orion website.

Ballsie,

Take the mounting hardware off and just use reinforced strapping tape to secure your batteries. I tried everything possible to get the other mount to work and it's just not worth it. One good hit and your batteries will fly out and your race will be done. Just make sure to file the bottom edge of the tape slots so the tape won't get cut.

A little front to back play in the spur gear isn't too bad. I was going to shim it all out but have run the car that way many times with no adverse reactions. Loose is faster right? :)

Need some parts ASAP

I figured I had better send a shout out to you guys since I am in a pinch.

I need to score a couple of Evo IV plastic parts. Specifically I am looking for oneway plastic gears (2+) and ball diff gears (2+). Neither SpeedtechRC nor Tamiya have any in stock. I also need a couple of the thrust bearings.

Please PM me if you can help, thanks.

Ballsie 10-27-2004 11:25 AM

Thanks F. Alonso & Fraz - much appreciated

The tape is what I use on my TRF 415 anyway.

Thanks :D

Tamiya TRF Shocks

I've about had it with AE's version of a shock. I want to upgrade to the TRFs but looking at them on Tower Hobbies page it looks like they are not threaded but use spacers for adjustments, am I seeing things?
