Originally posted by cooliomojo-CEBU hey great! im sure that you are driving really well with the car. yep, the car has a lot of steering. i would like to beat the others too. im planning to win the race this weekend!hehehehehehe on another note, have you had any speedo problems before? it seems that i do not get enough punch out of my speedo.....maybe im just paranoid. im using a gt7. you? |
Originally posted by BrainTeased hey simon do you use the inner hole on the front hub carrier for steering? i did that and it gave me instantly 5-10 more deg of steering throw! i also had to set my TX for 100% on right hand turns and 72% on left hand turns as the steering linkage gets contact with the tailshaft at the front how do you guys go about this? shim it sits higher? In regard to the tailshaft contact, I am actually using a turnbuckle instead of the carbon steering plate due to durability and I don't have that problem at all, unless I take a big hit. |
im using profile number 2. yep, might be the profile. how is profile 5 on stock. i will be racing stock 23t this weekend. i dont think it is the batts.....i used all of my batts and it just felt a bit weird.

Originally posted by F. Alonso I presume that you mean the front upright. I now have the Aluminium Square part for that and I use the furthest hole to the rear of the car. Works a treat. thx brainteased i fink i will definatly get the evo IV now...just waiting for my trip now...due in 3 weeks

Generally the tracks that we race on are bumpy and more camber is good for bumpy tracks. Also, I believe that they are better for rubbers too which is what we race here.
Because I use a turnbuckle instead of the carbon plate, this means that I can alter the ackerman by adjusting the size of the link with the turnbuckle. Because of this, I don't get that close to my front joint because my link is shorter then the carbon steering plate, if you know what I mean. When we catch up sometime, I'll have to show you. That will better explain it. |
Brainteased
Have a look at mine and see if you can see what the problem with yours is... http://galifrey.my-bulldog.com/pages...Tamiya0031.JPG http://galifrey.my-bulldog.com/pages...Tamiya0051.JPG http://galifrey.my-bulldog.com/pages...Tamiya0061.JPG If you need anymore detail let me know.. :D |
thanks Gailfrey!!
but for some reason it looks like the middle steering rod is not coming in contact with the front shaft and i looked at your shims on the left hand side that is connected to the left steering arm post. looks like what i did. very strange and it does look like you have full lock to the left as well!!! beats me!!! lol but thanks! ill be trying to add another shim to see what it does if it has enough thread. |

I finally got the tires wearing evenly!!! |

I think this pic will show what is wrong....
Bet he has used the middle hole on the servo saver rather than crank the horn over and use the end one... http://galifrey.my-bulldog.com/pages...Tamiya0021.JPG :D |
