I am sure you would...

I thought there were yellows on the EVO1, but even they are blues. The wheels are yellow though.

I found one set of yellows, but I doubt if you'd even get one run out of them.

So, in essence, you have a choice of blues, or..... blues.

what's the pro and con of this car? I read a few pages back and there are people having tweak problem and breaking a-arms. Is there a fix yet?

what kind of "must have" hopup does the car need?

I have not broken any arms yet and the tweak problem isn't much of and issue for me since I countersunk my upper deck. I am going to go one step further on this and make my own upper deck that is countersunk and it should make the car a bit stiffer.

The car is great out of the box IMO and I have run stock, 19t, and mod with it so far. After everything, I have only broken 2 parts. One was a rear upright when I clipped a board while trimming my servo before a heat at slow speed (talk about embarassing). The second was the front crown gear stripped inside. I expect some more damage because I run mod but the car is holding up really well so far. Then again, I am a fairly decent driver and don't hit lots o' stuff. But when I do... IT'S BIG!! :)

As for hopups, I have a bit but I do not think they are all required for most racers.

Jurgen diffs
Jurgen lightened center shaft
aluminum front shaft
aluminum rear shaft
countersunk upper deck (self)
alum oneway gear
B though E toe blocks
aluminum shims to change roll center
ti turnbuckles
ti screw set
swaybar set

The biggest problem I see on this car is all of the front hinge pin slop. Even when new it was out of control. I understand there is a new pin set coming but we'll see. I have also heard of most people breaking drive cups for the main shaft as the #1 breakage though I am still on the original (knock on wood). I think part of the longevity of mine is the Jurgen shaft uses standard roll pins and there is zero slop or play. If anything they are a little tight but I like it. The drive train is still free since that is a fixed member so I don't think it hurts anything by having it tight.

Where are you in SoCal? I grew up and have family in SoCal so I may be bringing my Evo4 down to race over the holidays.

Hey Guys,

I have run my Evo IV for the first 'proper' time in race conditions and I must say that I am stoked with the performance it put out. I raced in stock at our local club and I was up against a couple of guys who were in the top sections of Stock Nationally and I won 3/4 races. The first one I stopped the car as my gear mesh was too tight, ahh well.

I am really happy with the setup of this car and since this was my first time, I had a lot of people interested in the Evo IV so looks like we may have some more Evo IV owners in Australia....... here's hoping, or not hoping!!!!!

Now listed on Ebay

Not raced for so long it seems a shame to keep it shut away and not being raced.
