i noticed that (last pic) the barrier was very nice... and was wondering about the others. hehe it was a sneak peek?
we'll be planning on coming up again before the year ends. are there any planned sunday racing? that makes it easier since we're coming from socal.

Hey Hebiki,
I heard you guys were coming up. I wish I was there. Yea that last pic is what all the 180 are made of .
All the other turns will be the one just like on the back sweep just super reinforced, as that was our first try on it.
All in all its going to be a fun and inviting track for all.
From the word I hear, Sunday Racing might happen ever other Sunday.
Once the first version of the track is out and tested, the next goal might be to get the layouts for something like the snow birds and throw that down for us west cost guys to get ready for the trip.
Thanks for looking hope to see you soon.

yah me and jasper were looking at the 180 thinking.. "wow.. this part is nice, too bad the rest of the track is all tore up!"

you and your crew did a wonderful job on the track. that is world class.
please tell the race director if they will be racing on sundays.. they can expect us (TAOB Racing) to come up at least twice for the rest of the year! easier for us to leave friday (after work) then come home on sunday. my nephew was just delivered so now i have two reasons to go up there.

hopefully we can race with you guys real soon!
also..if you dont mind.. may i post those pics on the TAOB Racing thread so i can get them to go? ROOOOAD TRIP!

No problem at all, the more exposure the better.

We ran about 30 packs on the new track last night. The traction was slowly getting better. The favorite part of the track seemed to be the corkscrew coming out of the carousel leading to the 110 foot straight. Most of the drivers seemed to be moving up 1-2 teeth to deal with the bigger track (overall track dimension 110 x 70).
The fastest lap time was 18 seconds with most of the laps in the 20-24 second range. These times will probably drop 2-4 seconds once the traction come up. This will make 15-20 lap heats, which is about the same as RCCAR, allowing 10 cars to spread out some. Not bad for an inside track.
Cannot wait to see how everyone does on Friday.
Here are the other things on the todo list:
1. Lighting – more lights on dark parts of the track.
2. Hacking – a consistent compliant at this facility. I went to a race at Speedworld and they assigned a turn marshal to stand next to the race director calling warnings and stop and goes. Perhaps we can do something like this. Any ideas?
3. Using 1 main instead of 2 – I actually prefer 2 mains, it has been great fun this summer, but if there are more than 6 heats we get done too late. I have noticed that every time we get done latter than 11:00pm the attendance drops off. If we have less than 6 heats I would be fine with 2 mains, but any more than that and we should have 1 main with 2 qualifiers. I have asked for this twice with no luck, perhaps more of us can mention it to the race director.
4. Continue the points series – the attendance picked up considerably with the points series and the couple hundred dollars in gift certificates our group won was nice.
5. Getting more parts – the parts situation has gotten better with Steve’s help, but it would be nice to have a consistent stock of the basics at reasonable prices.
There is a core of very dedicated racers at this track who are very committed to making this a world class facility. This facility is not a club like RCCAR, which keeps many of us from stepping forward to help, but in the end anything we can do to help will allow us another great place to race during the winter. The track and organization has come along ways in the last couple of months. We hope you enjoy the results.
