Hey 12L4 drivers,

Check out the for sale area here for the chassis that Paul Ciccarello, myself, Jones and RIce used for the Halloween Classic.

Do a search on rayhuang in the for sale thread and it should come right up.

Re: Tire & motor questions

1. What size front and rear should I true the tires to for racing?

2. I usually use purple front and grey rear. What will happen if I use magenta fronts?

3. I will be running 19T motor. I have the Chameleon and Reed Quad mag. Which one would be better and what roll-out/gear ratio should I start at?

Thanks a bunch.

Blue Sky I was going to post those same questions myself tonight. I think I am going to go back up to a 19 turn for awhile until I improve in mod. The 11 turn is to powerful for me. Can anyone answer the question above we would appreciate your help. Thanks

cut your tires down to 1.800 front and 1.900 rear. If you put magenta fronts on it will give the car mores steering as for the motor I couldn't tell yah .

Blue sky...
On my BMI chassis I ran 1.75" diameter front and rear at the Holloween Classic at a high bite track... that gave me 3mm clearance front and 3 1/4mm clearance rear. I run purple fronts and grey rears, for me the magenta fronts gave a push to the car, but it was consistant, the purples heat up and get stickier as the race goes on and gives more bite. I don't know anything about the motors...

Hey Blue Sky last year I ran my chamelon between 94/31 to 33 turned my best laps geared at 94/32 and was able to run pretty close with the mod guys who ran 56 laps. Good thing I keep notes on each race or I would have never remembered this. I couldn't figure out the Reedy but now I know I need to gear up so I am going to try that out next week.

Hey thanks all for your answer. They're all good.

11, I'm racing 1/12 this weekend in Canada and they're using 19T. That's the reason I asked. Yeah, maybe I should jog down the good info too. Thanks again.

I'll be practicing at the Rain tonight. Probably be a while before I hit the Rain again. Tried FW last Sun and was a blast with the gas sedan. Probably will do again after this wkend.

4 Cell Maintenence?

Ok...what are you guys doing to maintain your cells? Charge/Discharge/tray, etc? What order and what products/Settings do you use along the way.

Thanks,
Blake

1-I discharge them a night before to .9 per cell with a NovaK Smart tray to let them cool down and match drain them.
2-Race day I charge them up
3-Race them
4-I will give them a couple minutes of charge after I run them just to store them.
5-I then go back to #1 for the next time.

If you race weekly, this is a good routine for me.
If you store your batteries longer, you may have to charge and equalize them a couple of times to get the max out of them.
As far as charge rate, thats also up to you. No more than 5A I would say for 3300's.

This works for me. However, everybody is different.

I had the EXACT same problem last two weeks. Was getting really mad about it. Turns out-I was running a plastic gear servo for the first time-ever (JR3550) and I tightened the servo saver on too tight. Like I wold for my metal geared servos.

Try loosening it and see if your problems go away. It worked charms for me.

OH-also-the servo feels no different on the bench with it tight or just snug, but you'll know immediately on the track if it is solved.

thanx ill try that. never thought about the servo saver its bran-new

What kind of servo do you have? I know hitec has problems centering. Also what's your front toe like.
