Orange side spring? I know you can get an orange/copper center spring, but I have never seen an orange side spring on the CRC site and didn't get them in my side spring set (pictured below). Is it a new spring that hasnt been put on their site yet?

they are based off the wolfe springs which have been used in oval front ends for YEARS... Calandra probably didn't include it b/c he thought it was too light. Speedmerchant guys run them sometimes.

it's a 4lb spring... the blue is a 6lb I believe

speedmerchant part#

5060 Tweak Springs (Orange/Extra Light) $ 2.95

Oh true, live and learn :) I never go softer than white but if we ever start oval here i'll know what spring to use

Anyone run an IRS RugRat conversion ? Am building one as I type

Something I'm thinking about with this conversion is the spring loading on the damper tubes....won't springs mess with the tweak if they happen to not be the same length or tension ? Maybe I should omit the damper tube springs ??

I am just starting 1/12 racing with the RC12 L4, i am wondering how small i need to true the front and rear tires?

SteveG,

There were two racers here locally that did not put the springs on the dampner tubes, I think it was because we ran asphalt. One of them mentioned that he would put the springs on if he ran carpet. Hope this helps.

Fire,
A good starting point on the 1/12 scale cars are 1.92" rears and 1.79" fronts. That is with lowered rear pods. The 12l has to run larger rear tires because of the taller rear pods.

i see

thanks man:nod: , time to true some tires:D

A RC12L3 on an old stock clearance deal will be your best bet at the moment.
I heard they can be had for $99, thats a hell of a car for the money.

There are tons of 1/12 to pic from. CRC AE L3/L4 Trinity Reflex12, CEFX (alittle high on price)

I would go with CRC Bloody kNife

I have seen 12L3 going for as little as $30 on ebay...
