with the new chassis, there is a hole in the centre at the rear between the back two bulkhead mounts, does anyone know what this is for?

Besercoe...Would it be the chassis balancing hole like on the old chassis?
Can somebody tell me what exactly the new front shock tower is used for? (Part # 30 2092) The description states "for large tires" How large of tires are people using to need this shock tower?
P.S. I've always been the only T-1 owner in my area, so I've never seen a loss of interest. Although my car isn't drooled on as much anymore... is that a bad thing?

You can run this shock tower with normal rubber tires fine. It is just slightly 'taller' so that you have more adjustment on the shock.

i think it is in roughly the same spot as the old balancing tool hole, although there is a small hole for the balancing tool slightly forward of this hole, it is countersunk like all of the other main screw holes for the bulkheads etc?

I'm pretty sure the hole is for counter balance weight.

Has anyone seen the new diffs with the spring steel outdrives??? Are they pre-assenbled?? They look to be sealed pretty good from the elements. Plus they come with carbide diff balls.

I am very happy with my xray too great adjustability and quality. the car is pretty popular here too..

I don`t know, at their site it says that the system will be online at 1800cet, but I have no clue about what that means..

Has anyone had any experience with removing anodizing on alu. parts? I am thinking a bit on removing the brown/gold anodizing on the buklheads, for a "natural alu"-look I read somewhere in rcca that oven-cleaner "eats anodizing for lunch", so maybee that would work?

Easy Off oven cleaner has always worked onn other forns of anodizing. Spray it into a container and dip the parts in to soak,then rinse with water.

Thanks for the tip. I think I will try it

hm, here in Norway parts has never been a problem. Are you sure that it is Xray, and not the asian distributor that doesn`t send the parts??

I haven`t heard of them releasing a 1/8track, but I don`t really see why they would do that, since it seems like they are working together with serpent(who makes the most popular-at least here- track-cars)?

Default Setup question.

I've taken about 2 months off from r/c, needed to save some money, didn't have enough time, etc, etc... Before my "break" I ran both Mod and Stock with foam tires. Now it's all Stock with rubber tires for the rest of the summer and into the fall.

This past Saturday I raced, and had plenty of horsepower, but couldn't get the rearend to hook up. It's good at turn entry, and seems to rotate well through the center of the turn, but at exit it's like the rearend just keeps swingin on around, and all of a sudden the car's sideways. The car is very smooth, and the frontend is working very nice so I didn't want to take traction away from the front, I was just trying to add it to the rear, which was very difficult.

I tried the following: Ligher rear sway bar, shorter wheelbase, widened the rear, uprighted shocks (upper mount), towed it out a hair (front), and took some caster out. All of those helped other than moving the shocks, which I put back.

Here's the rest of my setup:

Body= Protoform Stratus, standard wing mounted almost all the way back

Front end:
Tires= Sorex 24 HPI red inserts Yokomo dish rims
Shocks= White springs, 40wt oil, 2 holes open, middle mount on top, outter mount on bottom
Sway bar= Approx. 45 degrees
Anti-dive= upper hole
camber= 2*
toe out= .5*
caster= 3mm shim behind arm
diff= fairly tight
ride height= 5mm
upper arm= rear mount full up, front mount middle (accentric mounts)
width= 189mm
Rear end:
Tires= Sorex 20 HPI orange inserts Yokomo dish rims
Shocks=White springs, 40wt oil, 3 holes open, inner mount on top, outter mount on bottom
Sway bar= 1mm (smallest)
Anti-squat= upper hole
camber = 1.5*
toe in= 2.5*
diff= a little loose but not near slipping
ride height= 5mm
camber links= in and down on roll center bridge, out and down on hub
width=189mm
wheelbase= 3mm shim in front (I think)

batteries are all the way in the rear, standard top plate.

If you have any suggestions, please help me out. I finished 2nd, but the car was pretty pathetic. hehe

Thanks!
