Black and White Monitor? What is that? I thought gray was the only color, just different shades.

Actually my flat screen monitor is not the best at displaying proper colors. Guess I need to figure out how to get it to.

As far as the Xray prizes, there is still one more Big Prize that needs to be giving away, and there are still people entering the prize thingy, so after that, you all should start seeing your prizes show up.

I'll be talking to him after the Ft. Myers race this week, maybe we can come up with a good "low grip crappy old carpet" setup for the car... LOL

LOL!! So you will need the WornOutCarpet Nationals Setup. I have never run on carpet so I need a winning setup for when I do go to KinetixRC is Austin.

I do recall many faces during the RB era at Mike's. Hard to keep track any longer. I can walk in there today and he has new faces and talent.

Buster-

You got the Piston Parts for the X-Ray Shocks that get stripped out sometimes? I was building my car this weekend and my Wifes Hafl Brother and Friend (6 years old) had Fun changing the piston numbers but didn't know not to turn it less then 3 times so they stripped out two of the pistons. I wish I never showed them that part about the shocks. Also I lost the part that goes on the end of the Shock Shaft. I guess it would be a ball end. Coming in tomorrow to stock up .

Are you guys doing anything to your blue seal HQ bearings before you put them in. They seem to roll pretty hard or do they just need to break in.

Mike, I should have them. I will see you tomorrow. I am there from 2-9pm.

spongebob,
Remove the seals, they "pop" out VERY easily! I am soooo glad they do! Then soak them in motor spray, and then spray them out afterwards. Then replace ONE of the seals, put a drop of a light weight bearing oil and spin the bearing. Then you can replace the other sheild.

I personally run both shields on the Diff Block bearings, but I do not use the shieds on the INSIDES of the front steering block and the rear upright.

If you want them to be REALLY free, you can remove 6 of the balls. Every other one. But this should only be done for big races, or if you don't mind replacing them more frequently. I SURELY WOULDNT MIND!!! hehehe Just Kidding!

Let me know if anything is not clear.

Ok, thats what I thought, just wanted to check.

Another question, How do those aluminum shock seals go on the shocks? Is the bladder supposed to fit inside the seal because if it is it needs to be trimmed down.

I had the car working REALLY well on the carpet today, TQ'd by a lap and won the main even tho my motor went real soft on the third lap...

I used to race at FinishLine, "David F". I always pitted alongside the little white building with Neil... I was running a Shumacher Axis and then a Corally AGLE that summer.

Still probably the best place to read about the shock building.

Well, I received and built my car, and had my first race with it today. Overall, I'm very impressed. I did have a couple of problems though...Has anybody else encountered this:
1> No tire inserts???
2> Top portion of shock piston fits too loose. (No external adjustment is possible on my rear shocks. Both piston halves spin on the shock shaft)

Thistle-

The X-Ray does not come with Inserts for the Tires. The shocks not being able to adjust is a good sign that you stripped out the Male Piston on the shocks. It is no big deal if you don't mind opening and redoing your shocks every tiem you want to change how many holes are open or you can do like this website suggest

http://www.ashfordhobby.com/tech02....hock%20building

and super glue only the male part only to the shock shaft.

Buster-

Thanks for the parts and the Set-up Board.

Anyone have a setup for Carpet track with Foams racing Stock Motors?

Also Anyone here from Manila? Any good tracks around there? I am going to be there for two weeks. Also is it pretty safe for Americans to be walking around Manila if I were to bring my car?

Thanks

Thanks for the link to the shock site. I figured out how they are supposed to go together, (aluminum shock seals) but there is no way to get the plastic shock top to fit inside the rubber bladder with the aluminum seals in. Has anyone actually put these in?

My Xray felt pretty dialed on the carpet this past Sunday, I TQ'd by nearly a lap over the guy who had been out-qualifying me in my Losi for the past 3 weekends, and won the main.

I built the kit to the standard setup in the manual except the following differences:

front anti-dive: 0 degrees
rear toe: 2 degrees
Corally 20wt shock oil f&r
Associated Red (22lb.) TC3 rear springs
Center oneway: loose
Camber: -1.5 R, -2 F
Tires: TRC Plaid F, TRC Purple R
Batteries: rear

I think the car can get faster, this setup still felt very easy to drive, and I notice that my cars tend to feel a bit more hectic when the setup is really fast.
