Default p2k2 pro gearing

Any recommendations on gearing for a p2k2 pro motor? This
will be used on a medium size asphalt track..

Btw, Anyone know other than Xray's xstore where I pick up
xray spurs & pinion gears?

Thanks in advance!!

More info please. What are the track dimensions, roughly guess at it? What is the layout like, technical? Traction?

I run on a rather large track and I initially run 83/29, Takeoff rubber. Anything less and I will not run with the big dogs. 90/27 may be a good starting point for you.

RCCadet,

Thanks!!
The racing will be done on smooth asphalt. Regarding the layout
and dimension, It will be decided the morning of the event (Which really sucks..) I called and that's all I could get from them. I will
be entering stock class.

Btw for those in the bayarea it will
be held at Castle Hobbies in San Jose.

Well,

I finally made the move and picked up an XRAY. Just got done building it, and I have to say, the fit and finish of this kit should be a lesson to manufacturers everywhere. VERY impressive.

First race day will likely be this weekend, foams on ozite, semi bumpy fairly low grip track. The XRAY has gotten a bit of a bad rep around here, I'm hoping to disprove the doomsayers...

I wondered about your interests in XRAY after you successfully bought HuantedMyst's spares. I got the car!

E-mail Ralph Burch for his setup. I understand that he had his A-Main hands down until a minor scuff with a pipe, he did TQ his race!!

Great to have you aboard Trips! Show them how it is done.

Trips-

Did you get rid of your XXX-S like I did to run the X-Ray or do you still have both cars? I bought mine on Wednesday and am going to build it over the weekend. Can't wait to run it.

I still have the XXX-S, and a Mission as well. I plan to sell two of the three cars soon, I just have to decide which I like best...

I'll most likely have the XRAY out for its debut on Sunday.

I don't think Ralph's setup will be of much use at my local track, team setups don't work here for any cars, my belief is that most team setups are developed on smooth high bite tracks, and our track is anything but... it's somewhat bumpy, the caarpet is so worn that the floor is showing through in some spots, and theres so much loose fuzz that the cars come off the track after a heat looking like they need a shave...

DG, you probably remember that I worked with Ralph for a couple of months at Mike's in Carrollton before he left to go to Serpent USA... we're still in touch, but I haven't told him that I got the car yet... I'll be talking to him after the Ft. Myers race this week, maybe we can come up with a good "low grip crappy old carpet" setup for the car... LOL

What batteries are those? I know they are SMH, but what brand?

That's an old pack of Reedy Zappers, they're first generation Panasonic 3000's.

Xray Nitro Car......

Hey,

I noticed in the April issue of R/C Car magazine a little blurb about rumors about a Xray Nitro Car. Anybody out there got any more info?

Thanks!

No, haven't heard anything, but I asked if TeamXRAY had plans of one when this thread was on RCTouring.com.
