Torque Steer

What's the mostly cause of a torque steer problem with a TC-3. The car has 2 diff's if that's relevant. Thanks.

PaZ 12-02-2005 07:36 AM

what motor? is the steerin straight nothing bent?

Rick Worth 12-02-2005 12:58 PM

They say because the motor is mounted lengthwise with the chassis that the torque of the motor makes it steer one way. I've had 5 TC3s & never noticed it.

DOTMAN 12-02-2005 03:27 PM

Ditto...I've never had a problem with torque steer either. I've had 7 TC3's

anthony390 12-02-2005 09:21 PM

people may think that there is tourqesteer

BUT there really isnt any

thats because or thats why AE made the battery a bit out to the side a bit

the position of the battery is to counter wieght for the tourqe steer of the motor

but some people move it in closer to the ceter line of the car ( i would only limit it to a certain amount when moving it to the center)

that is why most people cannot notice the tourqe steer

that is just my
2 cents

what do you mean by ace(sorry)
and not 4 u though
and well ya i run modified

the thing is i had to redesign my suspension and chamber links to handle MY INSANLY FAST SPOOL :sneaky:

that suckes for me because i had the tc4 braces and shock towers on(front)... but i had to put in the tc3 braces and shock towers (front) back in.

I need a little help with gear ratios. I'm running in stock class and need some spur and pinion options. Any info would help. Thanks. ;)

anthony390 12-03-2005 09:12 AM

what motor do you have

anthony390 12-03-2005 09:13 AM

and is the track tight or high speed corners

Dreddlox 12-03-2005 10:28 AM

I have an Epic stock motor but I'm ordering a Team BrOOd motor for next weekend. Its a tight track with one realy long staight.

IMO - To get a feel for gearing on a track you should gear the car to hit top speed about 3/4 of the way down the long straight. This should get you in the ballpark. When you practice with the car and it feels sluggish on the infield then go down ONE tooth at a time until you get some good lap times and it feels right. I don't like just giving out random spur/pinions combos to people who don't know how to gear. First, the answer will 9 times out of ten be wrong because we don't know the track your running. Second, tell someone what to run on track "A" and he'll race well that day. Teach someone how to gear correctly and they can be self reliant and be able to race anywhere.

I need a rough idea. The car had plenty on the low end but ran out of steam half way down the straight. I new to the electric seen so I just need to be pointed in the right direction.

anthony390 12-03-2005 12:19 PM

what turn motor is it? is what i mean

Dreddlox 12-03-2005 02:45 PM

Oh! Its 27 turn stock. :)
