Is there life still in the TC3

New too the ELectric sean, I been running Nitro for the past Three years (Under the Kyosho Banner) so when a friend let me drive his Losi xxxs which I enjoyed... Hats off to all Electric Races.....

My questions have to do with the TA TC3
1) the race does not seem to turn in. I plan on testing with the Barry Baker setup form 2003 Reedy Race TC
2) since the turn in on the Losi is much shaper I was think of maybe use the xxxs' spindle&wheel carrier on the TC3 . They both look to be around the same size but the Losi's steering pivit ball seem to be shorter(meaning better steering. working like place two holes on a Nitro TC3 knuckle.
3) Has any one used or heard anything about the BlueBird servo. For $55.99 they offer 19? oz /.13 @6v

Thanks...And I can't beleave i'm racing no getting into Electric..... I take back all those wise crackes...

Does this sound right..?

G`day ppl`s,

Picked up a TC3 Team Kit today, & after going over it I sussed out the gearing. It seems a bit high & the pinion is huge.

Motor : Tamiya "Sport Tuned" Black Can
Spur : 65
Pinion :35

This gives a final ratio of 1.85:1

I brought it of a guy who knows what he`s doing , so i`m guessing it`s okay. Just thought i`d ask.

The track i`ll be racing on is a tight technical , shortish straights , & low to medium traction..& concrete netball court surface.

Also any recomendations for a Spur/Pinion combo for a 540 motor on the same track.

Cheers

hey what size tires are you guys starting with for foam on carpet, and asphalt, I mean what are you truing them dowm to?

PaZ 03-16-2005 07:05 AM

On Carpet- i just run the std 26mm by fast tyre, 40 front, 35 rear and just adjust the pinion as it wears down. Ive never skimmed them down so i dnt know it it makes any improvement

"Truing" tires keeps them from being oddly shaped. Lots of guys at my local track do that. All you have to do is keep track of the rollout and adjust the gearing accordingly.

Could you use the TC4`s chassis so you could get the "Bell Crank" steering rather than modify the TC3`s..?

As i had a bit a "sh!t" jam my steering on the weekend, I`ve only had my TC3 for a few days, so i don`t know how often this happens.

Cheers

PS , If not could someone please post a link on how to modify the steering to NTC3`s / TC4`s.

Thanks again

DONT worry...:D

Raced on Sunday & took out all 3 heats & the A main..:D :D

So the gear ratio`s were spot on for this track.

Cheers

Hope that it works for you. I tried it on mine and didn't really like it, it felt like I did not have as much steering.

thanks in advance :D

front and rear shock towers
main drive shaft (with outdrive cups)
spur gear adapter
chassis stiffening braces (necessary if you want to use the shock towers)
CVD´s
i think that´s about it...
