Yes and AE also just released the clamping style hex nuts, I believe I will check on that one.

I remember when I used the Yokomo hex's for the TC3, although they are made for the TC3, they did not work properly on my car, and caused the striping of a rim hex...

I do not have the part number for the clamping hexes, I'll check...

does anybody have a good combonation of shock oil, pistons, springs for asphalt? front or rear. i'm currently using #2 pistons, and 50 wt. oil front and rear, with silver springs in the rear and gold in the front. i've got to do a rebuild and i was looking at tuning options.

Rebuilding your shocks has more to do with setup then just a "good combo." So, what is the layout(tight, and twisty, or big and open, or in between)?
What tires are you running?
Are you thinking of changing springs?
What body are you running?
What class(motor, mod or stock)?

for smooth asphalt u can get away with 30wt. and have great nimbleness.i've tried 50wt but it wasnt to my liking so my suggestion is between 40-30.
the pistons and springs seem right.if ur at it u can try blue springs,front or rear they do change the handling in a noticable but controllable way and u can use them to tune.

Ok I just started racing my TC3 and took it to the track and ran a few packs after we all were talking and discussing different problems with cars and someone mentioned that the TC3 has a warping problem. So he showed me a TC3 that had a crater melted in it where the motor cam was on the bottom. So I looked at mine and sure as s*it there had already started to get a little spot right under the cam. So I had this idea and so far it seems to be working. I cut a slot right along the inside slot of the cam and also drilled 3 holes alond the fat edge. It seems to be letting enough heat out to keep the chassis from warping so far. I dont think this will totaly end the tweaking problem but it seems like it will prolong the chassis life alot. What do ya all think?

I think it might affect the tweak of the car due to the cutting but I am pretty sure that the tweak can be adjusted from the droop or the shock, but I can be wrong. There are alot of pro people here in this forum, they will be able to suggest something better.

I overgear my stock motor , and the temperature here in Brisbane - AUS is quite high as well but I dont see a sign at all that my chasis is gonna melt. Always rest your car and your motor after you do 15 - 20 laps depending on the tarck (big or small) and motorspray might help decreasing the temperature.

I just noticed that there are holes behind ur spur gear hole , wha t are those holes for?

There are alot of holes cut in the bottom of my chassis thats why I was so worried about chassis tweaking. (BTW Tweakers Suck) I also milled out the entire center brace and replaced it with an aluminum one mounted higher in the chassis. I still want to add some standoffs down the center to support the brace but I want to make them out of plastic. It will look alot better when its polished and anodized.

The bottom of the chassis was trued and sanded flat. Right now it is stiff as it was new. When the other standoffs are in it will be stiffer than new. BMI was talking about making a brace for the regular TC3 chassis If they do I wanna just scrap all of this and get one from them.
